You glance southeast.

Heavily wooded forest (nothing)
It is nearly pitch black over there.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Wia is sitting down in the distance to the southeast.
==================================================================
You swallow hard.
You begin to jog off to the southeast, wielding a coarse burlap sack.

You are moving moving diffidently, her sack slung over her right shoulder.

Wia is sitting down to the southeast.
==================================================================

You sink down, sitting upon your heels as you kneels. Your expression is solemn.
You sit down.
Wia glances upwards, frowning slightly before looking down at you and saying, "You are late."
Alcinous walks in from the south, holding a wooden quarterstaff.

Your eyes go wide.
Wia stares at Alcinous.
Alcinous says, "I had thought as m...m...much..."
You lower your head, eyes down, nodding towards Wia.
You jump as Alcinous speaks.
You stare up, your head still low, gazing at Alcinous with your mouth open.

You look at Alcinous.
He is a male human with large forest green eyes, a sharp nose, delicate ivory skin, white teeth, and flowing platinum blonde hair. He is about your height, about your weight, and seems to be about as strong as you. He is standing here looking barely tired.

He is holding a wooden quarterstaff in his left hand.
He is wearing a snow white flower on his head, a silver bracelet around his left wrist, a yellow linen dress on his body, a quartz necklace around his neck, a canvas backpack on his back, a woven grip on his right hand, a laced black sandal on his right foot, and a laced black sandal on his left foot. A leather moneybag and a belt pouch hang from a leather belt around his waist.

You swallow hard.
Wia points her quartz-tipped staff southward, still staring at Alcinous.
You slowly close your mouth.
You look urgently at Wia.

You look at Wia.
She is a female braman with round black eyes, wide ears, rough white skin, and a long nose. She has an upright, bipedal body with two arms, two legs, and a head mounted on a long neck. The calves and forearms are prominent, while the hands and feet are large and thick-nailed. The head is elongated and vaguely camelish. She is slightly tall, about your weight, and seems to be about as strong as you. She is sitting down here looking barely tired.

She is holding a quartz-tipped staff in her left hand.
She is wearing a set of silver-white claws on her right hand, a white cotton glove on her left hand, a gray silk cloak over her back, a leather canteen strapped across her torso, a gray velvet dress on her body, a pearl choker around her neck, a laced black sandal on her left foot, a laced black sandal on
her right foot, and a stitched leather backpack on her back.

Alcinous appears conflicted for a brief moment, then plants his staff resolutely.
Your hands clench in your lap.
Wia tilts her head at Alcinous, saying, "Want it spelt out human? Leave us be."
Yuzla sets in the east.
You swiftly say, your voice squeaking and breaking, "Aaa... Alcinous. P Please. Please."
You continue in a rush, "You cannot help me, defying her."
You look up, your frantic eyes staring at Alcinous.
Without sound, you mouth the word, "Please," again.
Wia looks at Alcinous.
Alcinous says, "I can't m...m...much help you otherwise either. I'm tired of skulking ab...b...bout talking in half secrets."
You close your eyes, slumping slightly.
You suddenly says, "May I beg a fourth favor?"
Your eyes snap open.
Wia nods briefly at you, still looking at Alcinous as she says, "She does not need any help for the moment."
Alcinous snorts indignantly.
You fall silent.
You think: (oocly) Wow, I am so hooked on this game. So. Hooked. On. This. Game.
You stare frantically from Wia to Alcinous, back and forth and again.

Alcinous says, "N...n...not from some weakling like m...m...m...me anyway is what you're saying..."
You gasp faintly.
Wia taps her set of silver-white claws on her knee, not taking her eyes off Alcinous.
You shudder slightly, your eyes darting to Wia's moving hand, and fixing on it.
Wia shrugs, still tapping as she says, "I care not what you think about yourself. She does not need your help though for the moment. Ask her yourself."
You are now going to walk.
Slowly, you raise your eyes from Wia's moving hand, blinking, then looking at Alcinous, your eyes wide and desperate.
 > Alcinous says, "D...d...do what you will w...w...with me b...b...but I won't leave her side for fear of y...y...you."
You moan softly, low in your throat.
You bow your head, tucking your chin almost onto your chest.
Wia chuckles softly, nodding as she says, "Very noble."
Alcinous says, "I know who y...y...you are and in some s...s...small p...part what you're after."
You moan softly, "No..."
You close your mouth and shut your eyes.

Wia looks to you, saying, "We will talk later. For now, spend some time with your friend. It may be the last time."
Alcinous says, "Some of which I'm after too, after a f...f...fashion."
Alcinous frowns.
Wia stands up straight.
Wia begins to slowly walk off to the north, holding a quartz-tipped staff, stooping slightly.
Wia goes out of sight to the north.
Your eyes snap open.

You glance north.

Heavily wooded forest (nothing)
It is nearly pitch black over there.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Wia is to the northeast, walking slowly towards the north, stooping slightly.
==================================================================

You stand up straight.
Alcinous says, "D...d...do what you w...w...will with me."
Alcinous shrugs.
You say, "I do not know what to do."
You stare after Wia.

You glance north.

Heavily wooded forest (nothing)
It is nearly pitch black over there.

Alcinous leans heavily on his staff.
You get ready to run.
You begin to run off to Alcinous, brandishing a coarse burlap sack, moving diffidently, her sack slung over her right shoulder.
You stop in front of Alcinous.
You collapse against Alcinous, shaking hard.
Alcinous just stands there, looking off to the north.
You whisper faintly near Alcinous' ear, "I am so sorry. I am so sorry."
You drop back to your knees.
Alcinous says, "I'm tired Eskcanta, and w...w...w...willing to meet whatever fate there is f...f...for me now."

posture kneeling
You start kneeling.
You are kneeling.

You look up at Alcinous, your head leaning far back, your throat exposed. "I do not think it is you who she will kill."
You are not hungry.
You say, "I did not lie to her, not exactly."
Alcinous says, "Well if she p...p...plans on it being you then m..m...my vows are getting broken."
Your eyes flicker shakily.
You say, "But I would have had you say anything, anything else, then what you had said."
Alcinous says, "I know..."
Alcinous says, "And I'm sorry, b...b...but, any way I said anything, even if I had w...w...walked away... in the end I'd have still b...b...been alone."

Eyes glazed, you raises your empty hand to lightly trace across your right cheek, down your throat, then rests it lightly over your heart.
You swallow hard.
You lower your head, hand still resting over your heart.
You say, "That. Is true."
You say, "And it is your choice."
You say, "No matter the price."

Ogma walks in from the southwest, his steps soft.
Galemon is waxing crescent as it rises in the west.
Alcinous says, "And I've b...b...been alone a long time, at least now let me have a m...m...moment when I'm not. When I d...d...don't have to hide from something."
Head bowed, hand over your heart, you does not react to Ogma.
You say very softly, "Yes."

You see Ogma sneaking towards you.
You start to softly cry.
Ogma stops in front of you.
Alcinous places a hand on your shoulder as he begins to shake uncontrollably.
Ogma's movements reveal his position and he is no longer hidden.
Ogma pulls his grass raincape about him, stepping out of the shadows to regard you.
Alcinous says, "G...g...good evening Ogma."
You shudders, your breath gasping in your throat. You turn your face to Alcinous' wrist.

Ogma gives a slow nod, eyes fixed on you.
Ogma asks, "Something the matter, Eskcanta?"
Ogma gazes up into the sky.
Not raising your head, you lean your face against Alcinous' hand.
Alcinous says, "I seem to have chosen w...w...wrongly..."
You say, "I am saying goodbye, as I was bid."

Ogma looks at Alcinous.
You say, "It seems there is to be a third corpse."
You twitch your left shoulder slightly.
Ogma raises his eyebrow slowly, asking Alcinous, "What does she mean?"
Alcinous says, "I w...w...wouldn't hang ab...b...bout were I you Ogma..."
You say, "He was permitted, earlier."
Alcinous nods slightly.
With a faint motion of your head towards Ogma, you says, "She means, that she failed, and is in trouble, and danger. And that it is to late to matter."

You say, "Owl hides nothing. And I did not dare, use owl's answer."
Ogma asks, "What have you failed?"
posture shaking as she kneels
You start shaking as she kneels.
You are shaking as she kneels.
You say, "To... tell the whole truth."
Your hand over your heart tenses into a fist.

You say, "You were only in danger twice, Ogma."
You say, "No matter what you thought, or saw."
Ogma nods slowly.
You say, "You were in danger when you started to speak, but did not say all you knew."
You say, "And I... I failed."
You swallow unhappily.
Lifting her hand from her chest, you sets it over Alcinous' on her shoulder. She looks up at Alcinous gravely.
Alcinous purses his lips tightly, appraising the area.

You say, "Trying to protect you, I endangered us both. Trying to protect me, you endangered us both."
You say, "Owl does not defend."
You say, "It sits, and it waits, and it shares."
You say, "I... will. When I must. Owl never forsake me, even when it was taken from me."
You say, "I will remember that. Owl's answer is still an answer, even when all else is broken."
Ogma asks, "You spoke with an owl then?"
You shake your head.
You say, "Not since I saw you last."
Ogma says, "Perhaps you should..."

You say, "But I have sat before many owls."
You say, "And I know all of owl's answers, that it has chosen to share with me."
You say, "If I see owl, before I am taken to task, perhaps."
You frown lightly.
You say, "It may not be best for the owl, for me to though."
You ask, "So. Alcinous. We are given some time. What would you?"

Inari jogs in from the south.
Inari looks at you.
Inari looks at Alcinous.
Inari looks at Ogma.
You stare up at Alcinous, not reacting to Inari's approach at all.
Ogma peers around at Inari.
Inari says, "Ello everyoen."
(OOC) Inari is suffering from tyops...tpsoy...bad spelling.
Inari coughs.
Inari sits down.
Inari says, "Everyone rather."
Inari smiles.

You blinks, then looks slowly to Inari.
Alcinous says, "I think all I can d...d...do now is apologize, and impart one last thing..."

You look at Inari.
He is a male human with dim black eyes, a pierced nose, smooth pale skin, white teeth, and spiky platinum blonde hair. He is about your height, about your weight, and seems to be about as strong as you. He is sitting down here looking haggard.

His right arm is injured and head is injured.
He is wearing a leather boot with an iron stiletto in it on his left foot, an iron nosering in his nose, a pair of black cotton pants over his legs, a leather canteen strapped across his torso, a leather boot on his right foot, a tooth necklace around his neck, a head lamp on his head, a slightly small wicker backpack on his back, and an oak longbow over his back. A snakeskin moneybag hangs from a leather belt around his waist.

You swiftly turns back to look up at Alcinous.
Looking over towards a young man with blue-veined pale skin, Inari asks, "Ogma correct?"
Inari blinks.
Alcinous says, "N...n...no matter what wills you face, what troubles occur, what terrible fear you may be in... Blaze said to the open sky, Terrinor provides."
Ogma nods slightly.
You swallow as you stares up at Alcinous.
Keeping his focus on Ogma, Inari asks suddenly, "What hath gone on here?"
Ogma says, "Something beyond us all I suspect."
Inari blinks.
Inari says, "I fear to say I do not understand what thou mean."
Inari stands up straight.
Ogma shrugs lightly, saying, "This surprises me not."

Inari begins to jog off to you, cautiously.
Alcinous smiles wryly.
Not reacting to Inari's question, you says softly, your eyes on Alcinous still, "If all is not lost... I do not know her will. I may be wrong. But. Do nothing.... rash? In case. In case. Because. I do not know."
Inari stops in front of you.
Alcinous kneels down and wraps one arm around you protectively.
You say, "It seems to be the way, to speak before anything. So. So. I have words, still."
Inari kneels beside you, opposing Alcinous.
You lean in towards Alcinous.
You say, "I have words, and I have owl's answer of words."
Inari's lip twitches, nodding to himself he stands back up and turns towards the north.

You glance north.

Heavily wooded forest (nothing)
It is very dark over there.

Ogma looks at Inari.
Inari blinks.
You look suddenly towards the north.
You say, "Inari, not that way."
Inari nods to himself as he runs quickly to the north.
Inari shakes his head.
You exclaim, "Please, please, not that way!"
Inari begins to run off to the north.
You gasp!
You glance north.

Heavily wooded forest (nothing)
It is very dark over there.
You bite back a sob.

Heavily wooded forest

Obvious exits: nothing
It is murky here.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Inari is far to the north, running towards the north.
Ogma is standing right next to you.
Alcinous is standing right next to you.
==================================================================

Inari goes out of sight to the north.
Alcinous says, "In Blaze's name..."
Your teeth clenched, you stares past Alcinous towards the north.

You glance north.

Heavily wooded forest (nothing)
It is very dark over there.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Inari is lying down far to the north.
==================================================================

Shuddering, you look back to Alcinous.
Ogma starts watching north.
Alcinous says, "G...g...go if you m...m...m...must..."
Rays of light streak across the land as the sun slowly rises in the west.
You say, "Not to him. To her. But."
You sigh.
You suddenly lifts your arms, hugging Alcinous tightly.
Ogma hisses as beams of light penetrate the canopy, pulling his grass raincape about him.
You glance north.

Heavily wooded forest (nothing)
It is a little dark over there.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Inari is very far to the north, running towards the north.
==================================================================

Ogma stops watching north.
Alcinous looks a little surprised but hugs you back.
Ogma says, "He is heading further..."
You say, "He."
Ogma attempts to drop out of sight.
You say, "He does."
You say, "Go with safety, if you go."
Alcinous says, "He should b...b...be alright, he knows the ins and outs of that one."
You say, "Father, and friend."

You ask, "He does?"
Alcinous says, "B...b...better than me or you I think."
You sound shocked as you repeat, "He does?"
Alcinous says, "Maybe not her intents, or her secrets, but her tricks and her snares, and her hatred."
You swallow hard.
You say, "Does he know her? He never said..."
Alcinous says, "If only I'd known a little more b...b...before all this."
You lower your eyes.
Alcinous asks, "N...n...no time for regrets now eh?"
Alcinous smiles softly.

You say, "It may not be to late."
You say, "I do not, know her will."
You say, "I knew I was dead, in her hands and dead, for disobedience."
You say, "And she let go, and bid me go, and did not care."
You say, "It is so, that I do not know her will."
You say, "And even what she says and clearly, I seem to sometimes misunderstand."
Alcinous says, "I w...w...will go as w...w..well soon..."
You say, "But. She wants truth."
You nods, looking back up.
You say, "I am freed, to wander as I will."

Alcinous says, "I w...w...want truth just as badly, if n...n...not moreso."
You say, "But, all secrets I know, I do not know alone."
You ask, "You understand that, yes?"
You say, "Life is truth."
Alcinous nods slightly.
You say, "And I will live, if I can."
You say, "Never, never, tell me or show me or anything, that you would have be a secret. I cannot keep secrets."
Alcinous says, "You w...w...will live, rest assured, you give yourself too little credit."
You blink slowly as you gazes at Alcinous.

You say, "Owl trusts. I will to. And, that trust helps."
You say, "It really does."
Alcinous says, "I think I am going to g...g...go find the cold sea, I've always w...w...wanted to."
You sigh deeply.
You ask, "Will you be coming back?"
Alcinous says, "I've never d...d...done anything untill today."
You search Alcinous' eyes.
Alcinous says, "If I am not stopped I will always come back."
You nod slowly.
You say, "I will too."
Alcinous says, "I d...d...don't want secrets, as m...m...much as you don't."
You blinks, averting your eyes.
You say, "I do not know what I want, in that regard."
You say, "But, want you safe."

Alcinous says, "And I love you, let that b...b...be no secret to you or anyone."
You say, "And I."
You say, "And even the safety of all who watch me."
You say, "That can be a very dangerous open truth."
You say, "She seeks weapons against, me, I am not sure why."
You say, "Already I am helpless in her grip, when she wills that."
Alcinous says, "It has n...n..needed to be open for a l...l...long time."
You say, "But that is not enough."
You nod gravely, looking up at Alcinous.
You say, "But I prize you, and you are precious to me. And... I need you."
Alcinous says, "I had always f...f...feared that, b...b..but I have always known as w...w...well, it's w...w...well."
You say, "There is so much I do not know."
You glance northeast.

Heavily wooded forest (nothing)
It is well lit over there.
------------------------------------------------------------------
A small pile of fresh bobcat meat is in the distance to the northeast.
Inari is sitting down in the distance to the northeast.
==================================================================

You say, "Perhaps, I do. And only do not know."
Yuzla rises waning crescent in the west.
You raises your hand to the side of Alcinous' face.
Alcinous says, "I am sorry... it's time..."
You lean forward swiftly and lightly kisses Alcinous' mouth.
You say, "I will seek her. And return to you, if I can."
Keror rises waning crescent in the west.
You ask, "Please, please... act as you must, but do not defy her?"
Alcinous nods.

You say, "She will, I think, allow your presence sometimes."
Alcinous says, "Not again f...f...for a while."
You say, "She has before."
You say, "And I think she intends something specific and private, this time."
You frown.
You say, "Perhaps, now, less pleasant then it had been intended."
Alcinous says, "I must g...g...go find my own secrets."
You swallow hard.
You say, "Remember what it means, to share them with me."
You say, "If you do."

You rise slowly to stand on your feet.
Alcinous says, "Always, and with all who long to know."
You nod slowly.
Alcinous says, "Stay safe, In Blaze's name."
Alcinous begins to slowly walk off to the northeast, wielding a wooden quarterstaff.
Alcinous goes out of sight to the northeast.

Ogma's movements reveal his position and he is no longer hidden.
Speaking from the deep shadows of a tree, Ogma says, "Perhaps an odd question, but have you got any food?"
You sigh deeply.
You begin searching for a plant.
You rummage around.
You say, "I shall, shortly."
You inspect the rotting trunk of a fallen tree.
You rummage through some fallen leaves.
You say, "There is always much food about."
You say, "Even in winter."
You scour the forest floor.
You inspect the rotting trunk of a fallen tree.
You glance northeast.

You pull off part of a plant to inspect it closer.
You are interrupted.
(Commonsense) Stopping everything.
You say, "Food is given."
You are now leading Ogma.

Ogma says, "To one who troubles to find it... my hands have never been skilled at such."
You begin to run off to the northeast, brandishing a coarse burlap sack, moving diffidently, her sack slung over her right shoulder.
You stop moving.
You say, "Come."
Ogma begins to slowly walk off to you, his steps soft.
You say, "Food is given."
Ogma stops in front of you.

You begin to run off to the northeast, holding a coarse burlap sack, moving diffidently, her sack slung over her right shoulder.
Ogma begins to jog off to the northeast, his steps soft.
You change your pace to a jog.
 > Ogma blinks.
Ogma asks, "Who left it there?"
You pause and wait for Ogma.

You ask, "Does it matter?"
Ogma says, "Well... meat lying in the forest..."
You pause and wait for Ogma.
You say, "You ask for food, it is food."
You stop in front of a small pile of fresh bobcat meat.
Ogma asks, "Might it be poisoned?"

You say, "And fresh."
Ogma examines a small pile of fresh bobcat meat.
You say, "Merely scattered."
You ask, "If you are content?"
Ogma scoops up a small pile of fresh bobcat meat gingerly, stooping to collect it all.

You rummage around.
You say, "For my sake, for your sake."

You look around for a while but give up in frustration.
You say, "Let me, be unwatched, by you at least."
You glance west.

It is well lit over there.

You jog to the west, holding a coarse burlap sack, moving diffidently, her sack slung over her right shoulder.

Ogma jogs in from the east, holding a very very small pile of fresh bobcat meat, his steps soft.
Ogma sets down the meat carefullly a very very small pile of fresh bobcat meat:
A very very small pile of fresh bobcat meat is sitting in a neat pile.
Ogma gives a quick nod.
You nod respectfully back.
You say, "Perhaps the meat giver knew the fungus had already been gathered from here."
You sigh.
You start to take a bite of bobcat meat.

It tastes fresh.
You take a bite of bobcat meat.
You are satiated.
You take a bite of bobcat meat.

You rises, then bows to Ogma.
You say, "Be safe, and always shadowed."

Ogma asks, "Shall I leave you to yourself then?"
You say, "If I return, I hope you will grant me sight of you again."
You nod.
You say, "You must, I fear."
Ogma says, "You need not wish me to be safe."
You step back, then away.
Ogma gives a flourishing bow.
Ogma begins to slowly walk off to the southwest, his steps soft.
You smile.
You say, "One I need not fear for."
You say, "I like that, very much."
You say, "Thank you for that gift."

((Ironically, this was the last time Esk saw Ogma. At least to date.))

You wave.
You stop leading.
You begin to jog off to the northwest, holding a coarse burlap sack, moving diffidently, her sack slung over her right shoulder.
Ogma gives a quick nod.
You glance northwest.

((I was just getting away from civilization, intending to wander until Wia found me, if and when she chose to. Perhaps shouting and otherwise being very noticable. The boring travel spam edited out.))

You begin to jog off to the west, brandishing a coarse burlap sack, moving diffidently, her sack slung over her right shoulder.
A wolf with matted silvery fur begins to run off to you.
You hiss at a wolf with matted silvery fur.
You snarls, "Not now."
You stop travelling as you approach the waters.
A wolf with matted silvery fur runs in from the southeast.
A wolf with matted silvery fur suddenly jumps you!
But you aren't sleeping.
You try to assume the best posture you can manage.
You are already in that posture.
You don't have any.
You don't have any.
You draw a knobbed wooden mace from your faded leather baldric.
You reach to a flax backpack.
You don't have any free hands.
You retaliate against a wolf with matted silvery fur!

A wolf with matted silvery fur sneaks past your defenses and nicks your left leg with his teeth!

You drop a coarse burlap sack.
You reach to a flax backpack.
You take a wooden tonfa.

You just barely dodge under a wolf with matted silvery fur's teeth.

You easily scramble out of the way of a wolf with matted silvery fur's teeth.

You casually bat aside a wolf with matted silvery fur's teeth with your knobbed wooden mace.

You just barely duck under a wolf with matted silvery fur's teeth.

You sneak past a wolf with matted silvery fur's defenses and bang his body with your wooden tonfa!

You skillfully parry a wolf with matted silvery fur's teeth with your knobbed wooden mace.

You glare at a wolf with matted silvery fur.

You luckily block a wolf with matted silvery fur's teeth with your knobbed wooden mace.

A wolf with matted silvery fur's head is crippled!
A wolf with matted silvery fur slumps to the ground.
A wolf with matted silvery fur's body goes limp.
You retire your knobbed wooden mace to your faded leather baldric.
You put a wooden tonfa into a flax backpack.
You take a coarse burlap sack.
You begin to jog off to the southwest, wielding a coarse burlap sack, moving diffidently, her sack slung over her right shoulder.

You hiss softly.
You'll now speak in Moorvic, a language you are extremely skilled at.
You shout, "Wia?"
You look all around, then lifts your hands to your mouth.
You shout, "Wia? You sought me. I am alone again!"

You look down the mountainside for a long moment, over the forest and river, toward the town.
You sigh deeply.
You stand up straight.
You say, "Heart, beat well and strongly."
You say, "With or without me, be and be strong."
You sigh.

You put an oil pouch into a flax backpack.
You take a coarse burlap sack.
Wia continues repairing a set of silver-white claws with a hardened steel file.
You close a head lamp.

You examine Wia's set of silver-white claws.
This contraption consists of a black leather strap with long draite rods extending forwards. At the end of each rod, long hollowed out claws are attached. The claws taper to a razor keen point. They are about a half-hand long. It seems to be in good shape. It is being worn on her right hand.

Wia carefully files a set of silver-white claws with a hardened steel file.
Wia concentrates, frowning at her set of silver-white claws.
You shudder slightly.
You look away.
Wia works on a set of silver-white claws with a hardened steel file.
Wia finishes repairing a set of silver-white claws.
You reach to a flax backpack.
You take an iridescent stone.
You look down at your iridescent stone in your hand.

Wia examines a set of silver-white claws.
Wia puts a hardened steel file into a stitched leather backpack.
Wia glances over at you, asking, "You know what that means?"
You say, "It reminds me of the orb that glowed. It is an opal. It changes as you look at it. At least when I do. And it can be used to help the skilled see if someone is a mage, or has recently cast at least."
You say, "I believe it means, you want me to look for mages. Or to remember when we spoke last. Or both."
You say, "But I have been wrong, very wrong, before, in regards to what you want."
You fold your fingers over your iridescent stone.

Wia shrugs, saying, "I was not asking so I could tell you. You have to understand what it means for yourself, and to yourself."
You blinks, dropping your eyes from Wia to your iridescent stone again.
You look back up. You swiftly asks, "Why?"

Galemon sets in the east.
Wia leans back slightly, using her hands to brace her as she glances upwards, before saying softly, "It is an opal, that is correct. It enchances and changes what is already known and clear, that is also correct - though my wording is a little more accurate. Each stone is different, as is each holder. No one can say what one stone may do for one person, nor what another may do for another. The answer comes from within, as you are the only person who can find it."

You listen, your eyebrows moving up and down in an expression mixed of understanding and puzzlement as Wia speaks. "Ahh." You swallow, your eyes on your iridescent stone again. "Alright."
Wia nods in a southwesterly direction, asking, "You have had your words with the human now?"
You say, "If chance comes again, we will speak again. I have also said goodbye, and oostdha too, in his fashion."
With a last, lingering look at your iridescent stone, you move it to your flax backpack again.
You put an iridescent stone into a flax backpack.

Wia glances over you, frowning as she says, "Oostdha ddhalloo think a lot of you to stand up and aganist as oostdha did. Why?"
You are slightly thirsty.
You drop your eyes, then raise them again to Wia's. "Oostdha loves me. That is the simple answer. One of the first things oostdha told me, when oostdha first met me, was that I had Dakra's spirit. I am still learning what oostdha meant by that, but I think that is actually what oostdha loves, what oostdha thinks of that."

Wia nods slowly, pausing before asking, "So you believe oostdha loves what you represent, rather than who you are?"
Wia gazes up into the sky.
You say, "Alcinous put me back together, uur, my heart and mind, when I was broken, lost, and confused. Oostdha told me then, oostdha felt like oostdha was stealing me. I called him my teacher, oostdha took that as insult, because oostdha saw me as a teacher too. I got him to agree, that we taught each other, and I had right to call him teacher, even as I learned from him. Oostdha is a complex man, and subtle. I think oostdha cares for everyone. But loves what oostdha believes of me."

Wia glances over to the eastern horizon as she listens, frowning at the dying sun.
You say, "Oostdha likely has a secondary, personal answer. Oostdha seeks knowledge, deeply, passionately. And, oostdha is a historian. Oostdha likely, also, simply wants to know, and hear, what is discussed."
You say, "I speak with him far less... completely, since I have begun speaking with you."
You say, "And oostdha is very aware of that, and I aware of his knowing."
Wia looks back to you, nodding slowly.

You regard Wia solemnly.
You say, "I do not know that I love him."
You say, "I did, perhaps."
You say, "Then... oostdha pulled away from me."
You say, "And I let him."
You say, "I gave him what oostdha wanted, when that was closeness."
You say, "And distance, when that was what oostdha sought."
You shrug.

Wia lets out a breath, frowning as she asks, "Then give me your counsel child. I gave a warning, and it was disobyed - reprecussions ddhalloo come of it. What should they be?"
Darkness draws in as the sun sets to the east.
You purse your lips. "I can almost answer that question, perhaps. Not sure how well. But I lack one tool I think I need. Why do you ask me?"
Wia frowns, glancing eastward and shaking her head, before looking back at you and saying, "I simply wish to know your thoughts. Give me them as they stand."
You say, "I shall."

Wia looks at you.
You say, "You speak of Alcinous's refusal to leave, when you directed. What you punish as, should not break what you want. Can oostdha be useful to you? If so, that should be maintained. Oostdha is a very unusual person, I have met no other, of any race, that reminds me of him. I believe his cooperation can be bought, with trust. But I do not think that is your way. It is my way, so I think of it."
Wia nods slowly, listening.
The chill wind blows across your face.
You turn your face into the wind.
You say, "It may be a strange and unwelcome concept. But sometimes, one can bind a will, through gifts and a sense of safety."

Wia tilts her head, asking, "And what of the punishment?"
You say, "Of punishment... I do not know much of that art, the administering of it. Defiance, disobediance, should be unthinkable. None the less, one thinks. The punishments I have known, were of disproval, mostly. And crushing to me. The last, the worst, was disownment. To Father, I am dead, no matter if I walk or even bleed before him. The only other time I have really been punished, I hid and tried to spy on Iguodala. Oostdha punished me, by hiding me better then I thought possible. It worked, I never hid from him again, or tried to spy on him when I thought oostdha could not see."

Wia nods to you, saying, "Then you can learn."
Yuzla sets in the east.
Wia sits up, beckoning to you as she says, "Come closer."
You swallows, raising your eyes back to Wia's. "I know fear of punishment. But that is all."
You nod reluctantly.

You are already in that posture.
You are now going to walk.

You begin to slowly walk off to Wia, holding a coarse burlap sack, moving diffidently, her sack slung over her right shoulder.
posture clear
You are standing.
You stop in front of Wia.
You sink down to sit before Wia.
You set a coarse burlap sack down.
You fold your hands in your lap, your eyes wide, shaking slightly, far more nervous then even a minute before.

Wia nods to you, saying, "Your first answer was as I expected - and quite a good one. It does make sense, and I next time I speak to him, I will seek his knowledge and all oostdha knows."

Your eyes flicker slightly.
Wia nods to your sheath, saying, "Give me your knife."
You pauses, then nods.
You draw a sharpened silver dagger from your leg sheath.
You give a sharpened silver dagger to Wia.
You refold your hands in your lap.
Wia glances over her sharpened silver dagger, frowning.
Wia throws a sharpened silver dagger toward the east.
You glance east.

A river heading south (nothing)
It is very dark over there.

((This knife was very precious to Esk))

Wia draws an ornate obsidian dagger from her short leather sheath.
You lower your chin slightly.
Wia holds her ornate obsidian dagger by the blade, holding it out toward you.
You eye follow the knife, then back to Wia.
Wia gives an ornate obsidian dagger to you.
You glance down at your ornate obsidian dagger, then back to Wia's eyes.
You hold the knife quite still, your grip on it tentative.
Wia says slowly and clearly, "You do not know of punishment, then you will learn. I will not kill the human. However, you will, and with my blade."

You drop an ornate obsidian dagger.
You stare down at your limp hand.
Swallowing, you looks back up at Wia, your eyes deep, and still. The rest of your trembles. "And if I do not?"
Wia smiles at you, saying, "Then for every month it does not uur, one human will die by my ddhalloo."

Her eyes flickering, steadying, flickering again, you slowly says, "It is not uncommon for years to pass, between when I see Alcinous since the last. But that is not the issue. What if, the months pass, and pass, and I still do not?"
Wia glances over you, saying, "You have the love or trust, or call it what you want, to make it painless for him."
Wia smiles at you, saying, "Then for every month it does not uur, one human will die by my ddhalloo."
You jut your lower jaw forward to chew and nip at your upper lip, curling it inwards over your top teeth.
Wia frowns, glancing upwards and squinting, before looking back at you and saying, "The first will be at the end of Endres if it is not done."

Wia continues, "And then, on the 21st of each month until you bring his oreest."
You ask, "Well. This ddhalloo be asked. You know of gods, and the rites of altars. I have never left a dead one without ih for their return. The death you seek for him, do you demand that I not, in his case?"
You think: Owl, is there an answer for this?
You think: I never wondered, about this
Wia says to you, "My warning was clear, and such words always should be. One a throat is cut with my blade, the soul belongs no longer on these lands."
Keror sets in the east.

You ask, "Do the kiisic hunger for souls so much?"
Wia frowns at you, growling slightly as she asks, "What does this have to do with anything?"

((Relates back to an earlier conversation with Wia, not long before, where she told Esk that when she died, her soul would be given to the kiisici.))

You gaze back steadily. "You do not even know what you seek to break. And it could be valuable. So it has a purpose."
Wia stares at you, her voice quivering slightly with anger as she says, "I have spoken now, and you will keep to my words. Either way, I will keep to mine. One human, every month. Think upon how valuable that is."
You ask, "And what if I die, Wia?"
You say, "What if the dagger be stolen from me? There be theives walking the land."
Wia thinks for a moment, then says, "Then you are a coward and the pact is broken. Give your life to save him if you cannot stand to learn the lesson of vengeance."
You swallow hard.
Wia says, "If it is stolen, then you will get it back by whatever means necessery."

You ask, "Punishment, uur vengeance. Things are twisting, aye. What if I slay him, before you can speak to him?"
Wia points a clawed hand southeast and says, "Oostdha was warned, and oostdha choose to ignore."
You say, "Nay. Disobey. Ignoring is different. Truth be truth."
Wia shrugs, saying, "I care not. If I see him first, we will speak. If I do not, we will not."
You ask, "What if you speak with him, and find oostdha has value to him?"
(OOC) You are suffering from tyops...tyypos...bad spelling.
You ask, "To you, rather?"

Wia shrugs, saying again, "They are the same to me."
You ask, "Are you so certain, that there is no use Alcinous could be, alive, and obedient, that would make him more desirable to you alive, then wasted?"
Wia chuckles, shaking her head as she says, "That matters not. Oostdha took my warning in vain and there will be punishments."
You nod. "And death be the only punishment that punishes? Does not death end the punishment?"
Wia leans forward to you, hissing, "My word is final. I will not be toyed with or treated like a fool."
You blinks, then looks again into Wia's eyes.

You say, "You know it is easy, to just let you do. Easier, then lifting my hand."
Wia leans back, glancing over you as she says, "Death is the punishment. It ends it, maybe, but it suffices."
Wia asks, "To let me do what?"
You take an ornate obsidian dagger.
You examine an ornate obsidian dagger.
This is a heavy-looking, double-edged knife with a leaf-shaped obsidian blade and a mottled handle of tortoise shell. Its glossy edges appear extremely sharp. It appears to be in perfect condition. It is being held in your left hand.
You offer an ornate obsidian dagger to Wia.
Wia refuses an ornate obsidian dagger.
You shrugs, setting your ornate obsidian dagger down alongside of Wia.
You set an ornate obsidian dagger down.

Wia says, "You need to learn this lesson if you are to be of any use."

You say, "I have shaped stone."
You say, "And turned it in my hand."
You say, "And worked it, until the stone shattered."
You say, "Later, I learned more of stone."
You say, "And learned that there were places not to use my chisel, because the stone would break there, if I did."
You say, "But, slightly aside, it could be worked, and would serve."
You ask, "Making, it be a partnership, no?"

You look solemnly into Wia's eyes.
You say, "Between crafter and tool, and creation."
You ask, "What would you have me be, Wia?"
Wia nods, saying, "A good analogy. If this breaks you though, so be it - you would not have been of use to me anyway."
You say, "What use do you seek? It was a long while, before I learned that a hammer could mine ore as well as a pickax. I threw hammers away right and left before I learned that. But hammers are even better for the task, in some ways."

Wia says softly, "I would have you be my child. One who does what I says, and one who knows all courses of actions open to them, and is not afriad to use the best avenue."

Wia says, still speaking softly, "You have already been broken by me. You come whenever I call. You cannot listen to secrets for fear that you ddhalloo tell them unto me. This is the turning point that will make you a fine creation, or a pile of rubble of no use to anyone."

Wia gets to her feet, standing up as she says, "We have spoken enough."
You nod slowly, closing your eyes for a moment, then opening them again, looking at Wia again. "Of being your child...Given the uur, the first is harder. Given the third, the first is perhaps not possible. May I hnn to you, rather then be broken? You hold all power, here with me, perhaps everywhere. All of it. Please, grant me chance, to hnn to you, and shape to your needs and will? You said, me be your child. Not that you want a child. What you give you can take, and I know this, totally. That you can take."
Wia stands up straight.

You ask, "With all power, you can shape, rather then break. Please, Wia?"
You trembles, looking up at Wia.

Wia snatches up a quartz-tipped staff.
Wia takes a quartz-tipped staff.
Wia begins to jog off to the north, brandishing a quartz-tipped staff, stooping slightly.
You bow your head.

Wia goes out of sight to the north.
