Falari Birth and Childhood

"Do Falari give birth to eggs?"
Newt says, "that'd be a bastard of an egg :)"
Dement says, "Depends on how small they are when they're birthed?"
Dement says, "They could have the largest growth rate of any sentient being."
Dement says, "Eggs starting off pretty small."
Newt says, "blink and they're bigger :)" <Public> Who meant? What meant? Dement says, "Like Alien."

Dement says, "Also, there is a split in the community view on whether artificial incubation is good."
Dement says, "Some argue it allows parents to support each other, and is needed if one wants to give birth outside of Falar."
Dement says, "Other suggest naturally incubating an egg is a necessary bond building exercise between male Falari and their children, with unknown cultural impact."
Dement says, "Regardless, most Falari will travel back to their home planet to birth children."
Newt says, "why can't they give birth outside of home?"
<Public> Who meant? What meant? Dement says, "Because there is no real way to support themselves outside of their communities."
<Public> ZA WARUDO!!!! Anshera says, "Dey are restricted by their stupidface bird natre."
<Public> ZA WARUDO!!!! Anshera says, "nature*"
<Public> Who meant? What meant? Dement says, "Without sufficient capital, some families would run out of money."
<Public> Who meant? What meant? Dement says, "For the same reason not everyone I know can afford not to work when they have kids."
<Public> Whilst riding the giant space chicken onto Neverpond Newt says, "but... hrm. so how do they colonise otter planets?"
<Public> Who meant? What meant? Dement says, "As a community?"
<Public> Who meant? What meant? Dement says, "Perhaps I shouldn't say Falari specifically."
<Public> Who meant? What meant? Dement says, "Falar*"
<Public> Who meant? What meant? Dement says, "Merely Falari colonies, so they're surrounded by other Falari."
<Public> Who meant? What meant? Dement says, "There could even be communal nesting grounds?"
<Public> Who meant? What meant? Dement says, "I'm just thinking about the restriction an egg poses."
<Public> Who meant? What meant? Dement says, "They need to be sat, still and warm, for at least a couple of months."
<Public> ZA WARUDO!!!! Anshera says, "S'why birds got such big asses."
<Public> Whilst riding the giant space chicken onto Neverpond Newt says, "ok. so back to planets and, say, space stations? how big a community do they need? would a large ship do it?"
<Public> Whilst riding the giant space chicken onto Neverpond Newt says, "(is that why women get called birds?)"
<Public> Who meant? What meant? Dement says, "Yeah, probably."
<Public> Who meant? What meant? Dement says, "I'm just thinking, outside of their respective communities, how could they afford to take 3 months from work?"
<Public> Whilst riding the giant space chicken onto Neverpond Newt says, "paternal leave? :)"
<Public> Who meant? What meant? Dement says, "Hiverspace is not a communist universe =("
<Public> Who meant? What meant? Dement says, "Who pays that?"
<Public> ZA WARUDO!!!! Anshera says, "VR office. Dive into the digital world!"
<Public> Whilst riding the giant space chicken onto Neverpond Newt says, "community."
<Public> Who meant? What meant? Dement says, "There doesn't seem to be any major governing bodies in Hiverspace."
<Public> Who meant? What meant? Dement says, "Hmm."
<Public> Whilst riding the giant space chicken onto Neverpond Newt says, "if they are so community bound they'd be less individualistic about their resources, id say."

Falari have the largest child growth of sentient species, starting off tiny and growing to their 8 foot sizes within ?? years. --James 12:25, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

On Eating Eggs

How would Falari consider other races that happily eat non-sentient beings eggs? Would they do it themselves (fairly well recorded in the animal kingdom, but whether that comes into it or not is arguable) or would they be as put off as a lot of humans would be at the concept of eating a baby cow, or a piglet?
