Classic OtherSpace Log: Trial of Talis Grant

Posted on November 30, 2013 By Brody No Comments on Classic OtherSpace Log: Trial of Talis Grant

Col. Talis Grant (FettaS) and his second-in-command from the SCD Indomitable face a court martial for their role in an incident that led to the deaths of thousands of Sivadians during Arc III (Pandora’s Lament).

Situation Room – SCCV VERSAILLES

– SCCV Versailles

A projection screen and interstellar map dominate the aft bulkhead of this spacious chamber, with a podium before the screen that bears the Vanguard seal – an eagle clutching a lightning bolt in one taloned foot and a bushel of wheat in the other, against a backdrop of blazing stars. Two dozen chairs are arranged in four rows of six for crew and pilots to gather for briefings. A Stellar Consortium index terminal is off to port. To starboard, a holographic imager table allows officers to plan military strategy in three dimensions.

Entering moments before the Colonel, a Captain in stiff, creased dress uniform enters. The expression on his face is emotionless, though a lurking impression of anger and hatred runs rampant.

With short, crisp strides, a prim and proper man wearing a starched uniform and rank insignia of Colonel arrives. He nods to a passing yeoman as she stride from the room, documents in hand. “Evening, Gentlemen.”

AB145Q swivels its head to regard the Colonel, and blinks in acknowledgement. “Good evening, Colonel.”

Richards nods “Evening Colonel”

FettaS arrives from Corridor – Deck 1 – SCCV VERSAILLES.

FettaS enters from outside.

Marcus looks dispassionately at the newly arrived, thus far unknown Colonel. “Colonel.” Is all he says in a raspy voice, already making his way towards a nearby seat.

Kaspar arrives from Corridor – Deck 1 – SCCV VERSAILLES.

Ash arrives from Corridor – Deck 1 – SCCV VERSAILLES.

Kaspar changes his stance to attention at the sight of his superiors.

Jenkins clears his throat, making his way towards the head of the situation room’s table. Once there he turns to survey the room and the accompanying officers. His eyes scan the gathering group, stopping on Richards’ face, then Marcus, Kaspar and the newly arriving Ash. Finally, it comes to rest on AB145Q’s presence after briefly flickering past FettaS’ own visage. “Are we ready, Colonel?”

Classic OtherSpace Log: Interlude with a Vampire

Posted on November 30, 2013 By Brody No Comments on Classic OtherSpace Log: Interlude with a Vampire

When Nall spices and Jordan’s 13-Alarm Ungstiri Chili meet, the result is a dream of bizarre proportions for Orandius Jaxx, Emissary Head of the Mystics…

From the familiar confines of the Fool’s Pride bunk module and a deep, uneasy sleep, Jaxx suddenly finds himself rudely awakened in:

Hog Heaven

A swirling, rather nebulous region, where is anyone’s guess. Occasionally the odd incandescent bubble drifts up amongst the many color swirls and pops gently, releasing tiny little piglets with wings that merrily flit about, as well as miniature Harleys revving hellfire and brimstone, also be-winged. Louder rumbles herald the approach of larger Harleys, oftentimes pillioned by chunky porkers in leather, sunglasses, and sometimes, flower-child clothing. Pink elephants of all size, winged, cherubic and kazoo-bearing, float about in humble servant capacity for the slightest wish or whim.

Dream-Sequence Vampire

A crow of a man with disconcerting sunken eyes of indeterminate color, they always seem to gleam. Tall, with the gaunt, pale features of a scavenger, he wears tunic and trousers of coarse black cloth. The trousers are folded under where the right leg ends below the knee. A tattoo of barbed wire encircles his left eye and loops around his shaved head, trailing down his left cheek and around his neck. He wears big glittery pink sunglasses and a blue feather boa. His biker boot is sprouting with rhino tusks. He’s wearing a big crimson fez and a Groucho Marx plastic nose and mustache…and a Karl Marx faux beard.

Vampire perches atop a massive Harley Davidson motorcycle, revving the engine madly and smoking a cartoonishly huge stogey.

Vampire takes off his big pink glittery sunglasses long enough to wink suggestively at Jaxx, then slips them back on again. “Evenin’, sunshine.” He smooches at Jaxx.

Classic OtherSpace Log: Whack A Weasel

Posted on November 30, 2013 By Brody No Comments on Classic OtherSpace Log: Whack A Weasel

The Sanctuary Goodwill Games are under way. One of the first matches pits attorney Jacob Gettleman against the Nall Soth Betoth in a fencing match that yields some amusing results, if not an abundance of goodwill.

Smuggler’s Cove — Fighting Arena

This is a fairly large room with a high ceiling. In the center of the room is a raised square platform that resembles an old-style boxing ring, complete with ropes and turnbuckles. The ring is lighted by a series of white spotlights overhead, and the rest of the room is dark. Around the ring, arranged in rows, are seats for spectators, but despite the appearance of size for the room, there is only enough seating for perhaps 200 people.

Betoth continues to stare at Jacob. His eyes nictate and he snarls, “This? This is what I am to fight?”

Jacob finishes limbering up, grips his nub-tipped saber in his right hand and smiles crookedly at Betoth. “Worried, are you?”

OtherSpace Flashback: Roleplaying Cookbook

Some words of advice about generating RP, from a decade or so ago. Still applicable, in most cases!

You should never have an excuse to complain that there’s nothing to do. As long as there are two people online within reasonably close IC distance of each other (and, of course, an IC excuse to get together), there are many things to do even without an admin running a planned or story arc activity:
