Location Description
A greasy spoon restaurant with an L-shaped lunch counter with silver-stemmed black stools in front of a prep counter, grill, and refrigerator/freezer units. The floors are tiled in checkered black and white. Several booths with holovid jukeboxes are aligned next to long, low windows that overlook Miner Street and the glass and stone spires of the nearby government center.
The restaurant got its start in 2618 when a Zangali named Fadanurth Utabuna migrated to Earth from the cavern cities of Mars and started a business using Consortium compensation benefits. Originally, the diner was called Fadanurth's, but everyone kept messing up the pronunciation. So, ultimately, Fadanurth did some research and decided that he would instead call the diner Fred's. Much easier to pronounce, although it did lead to people calling Fadanurth "Fred." For a while, he even tried correcting them.
