Roland Geste is an NPC security officer who works about the Olympus Trade Vessel. He is an Outverser who was rifted into Hiverspace from the year 2982 with his friend Jack Robinson.

NPC NOTE: Roland is a character intended to add flavor to any roleplay on board the Olympus Trade Vessel (and off of it) and as a result, anyone is welcome to use him in their scenes. This wiki page is intended to give a level of background and character information so that a level of character consistency may be reached for those including him. Please note, only Olympus org members will be allowed to RP Roland off station, and only with prior permission. If you choose to use this NPC in your scene, please log it and send it to either Tiana or Rillitan.

Background

Roland was rifted in from the year 2982 with his friend Jack while they were in a hovercab in Sivad, for a while they were supported in the refugee camp set up for rifters on Comorro but they shortly managed to get a job with the Olympus.

When his friend Jack was killed in a pressure explosion, the loss weighed heavily on Roland. Jack was his only real connection to the life he had before he had been rifted and he had been a good friend for many years. Roland was given leave, but he did not take it as he does not feel comfortable leaving the Olympus for too long without other crew members.

Characteristics

Roland speaks in a broad Terran accent and seems to be fairly well educated. He's sharp witted and his primary use of humor tends be sardonic and abrasive.

Roland is obsessed with being observed as well put together.

When he's not working, Roland watches holovision and spends time talking to himself in the mirror.

Job Role

On board the Olympus, Roland is a security officer. His roles vary between sitting on the security post in the docking bay, looking after the public shuttle when Fauze is transporting tourists and watching over the Mess Hall and Craft Hall during Olympus public trading hours.

If there is a fight, Roland will attempt to step in to break it up. If someone breaks one of the more severe rules on board the Olympus he has orders to detain the offender if possible or use whatever defensive force he has. Roland has a tendency to put of calling for support if he thinks a situation could be defused by himself.
