+str

This is the new Staff Request system for Otherspace, as coded by Ifrit.

Use to submit suggestions, questions, bugs, typos... anything that catches your eye.

  • +str <type>/<subject>=<body> - Submits a new request straight away.

Step-by-step commands

  • +str - Starts a new request using the step-by-step system.
  • +str/type <type> - Sets the subject of your request when using the step-by-step system.
  • +str/subject <subject> - Sets the subject of your request when using the step-by-step system.
  • +str/body <body> - Sets the body of your request when using the step-by-step system.
  • +str/body +<body> - Appends to the body of your request when using the step-by-step system.
  • +str/review - Reviews your request when using the step-by-step system.
  • +str/cancel - Cancels your request when using the step-by-step system.
  • +str/submit - Submits your request when using the step-by-step system.

After you've submitted your request

  • +str/list [<page>] - Shows a list of all your requests. If <page> is specified then it shows that page (for use when you have more than 8 requests).
  • +str/view <ID> - Shows your request ID #<ID>.
  • +str/comment <ID>=<comment> - Leaves a comment on your request ID #<ID>.

If there are any problems when using this system, @mail Ifrit. Or submit it as a bug, but if it's broken that might not work... so @mail Ifrit.

+vote

The voting system is intended to ensure that outstanding roleplaying is commended, and poor roleplaying pointed out and improved. Comments should be of substance. Only administrators and directors can view who you voted for. At the end of a voting cycle, your comments (but not the author) are visible to the person you commented on.

Please do not vote for your own characters.

  • +vote/commend <player>
  • +vote/commend <player>=<comment> Praise someone else for outstanding roleplaying. If a comment is included, it counts as two votes. Use a player's alias (shown in <> on the who list and also listed in their +finger info) to +vote for a player with two-word names.
  • +vote/uncommend <player> In case you mistakingly commended someone with an inconveniently similar alias.
  • +vote/coach <player>=<comment> Recommend coaching for poor roleplaying. A comment is required. Use a player's alias (shown in <> on the who list and also listed in their +finger info) to +vote for a player with two-word names.
  • +vote/uncoach <player> In case you mistakingly coached someone with an inconveniently similar alias.
  • +vote/history See your voting history for this cycle.

  • +news/post Planet/News Org/Headline=Story
  • +news/read <article> (+news/read MARCH02-1)
  • +news/del <article>
  • +news/new - Displays the oldest unread article.
  • +headlines - All headlines from current month
  • +headlines/topten - Ten latest headlines
  • +headlines/toptwenty - Twenty latest headlines
  • +headlines/unread - All unread articles
  • +headlines/catchup - Marks all existing headlines as read.

For use on archived (non-current months):

  • +headlines <month> (the Month is MARCH02 etc)
  • +headlines/<month> on <planet>
  • +headlines/<month> from <news org>
  • +headlines/planet <planet> - All headlines from a planet (All months)
  • +news/rotate <new month> - creates a new news archive.

Valid planets are: Comorro, Hekayt, Aukam, B'hira, Kamsho.

Valid news orgs are: CNB FN FLN VOA LIN ONS.

Anyone can read news. If you want to write a freelance article, post a +str.
