Barracks <Red Eclipse, Comorro Station>

The barracks are split neatly down the middle of the room by a tiled hallway, with clearly marked accommodations for males on one side and females on the other. Doors at intervals lead into multispecies bunks, locker rooms, and the showers/refreshers. The walls are adorned with weapons and armor of many kinds. In the rear of the chamber is the infirmary, storage area, and a small workbench for equipment maintenance. While spartan in appearance, the barracks offer a reasonable amount of comfort and are sturdy enough to handle the rough and tumble lifestyles of the resident mercenaries and staff.

"Jaaaaaa~aaaames," The siren song of the North Hiverspacian Hootchie Bird echoes faintly around the barracks, melodious and alluring. "Wheere aaare you, my wicked darling?" Joca calls, peering around a wall. She peeps into the showers. "Oh, 'allo. But you are not James. Sorry! ...talk to me later, sough, ne?"

Sterling's barracks door opens and the Aussie pokes his head out into the hallway. "G'day, Boss," he calls, grinning at her. "What's goin' on?"

"I am back from Pyracan," Joca purrs, waving a bottle of small-brew liquor. "Wanted to know if you want to..." Bleep, bleep! Off goes her PDA. She gives it the dirtiest of dirty looks, before unholstering it and peering at it. "...Merde. If you want to go to se Baile and 'elp sem deal wis Monsieur Mickee..."

Sterling's gaze goes to the bottle in Joca's hand, his eyebrows rising with interest. He sports a rather casual look, dressed only in a pair of red shorts. The delight in his eyes dims at the mention of Micky's name. "'Deal' with 'im? What's 'e done now?" He leans against the doorjamb and frowns at her.

Jocaira has a hard time getting her eyes away from James-in-shorts, but she manages to look at the message. "Ahn, looks like 'e got 'imself sick and is carrying disease, so sey want to make 'im bettair and make sure nobody else catches it. Great, good job, Mickee. Hnn. Oh, sey are on Olympus, is easy shuttle ride. Get dressed, we need to 'urry. I know 'e is going to make a fuss."

Sterling heaves a sigh and rolls his eyes. "Bloody Micky," he mutters. He nods to Joca. "Gimme a minute," he says, and ducks back into his quarters. Ninety seconds later his door reopens and he steps out in his normal wear, his jacket in his hand. "Let's go, then."

Medical Facilities <Olympus Station>

The medical wing is well apportioned, with a variety of lab equipment and technical gadgets available to assist in first aid, basic preventative medical care, and all but the most specialized of surgeries and trauma injuries. One corner is devoted to a cubby set up with a polished nameplate bolted to the doorway, denoting the area as belonging to Christoff Sexy, MD.

Aina

Standing at seven and a half feet tall, this Hekayti female towers over most other creatures, despite being on the shorter side for her species. Her entire body is every shade of jade one can imagine, and if she moves just right, sometimes it looks like the colors are flowing over her. Shoulder length pale jade hair hangs down freely, reaching just past her shoulders. Atop her head are a pair of horns, which curl into several circles around themselves. Pale blue eyes gaze out at her surroundings, takeing in everything, while the pale green lips curl into a light smile. Her legs bend in two places, and end in solid hooves.

She's currently wearing a nice, long sleeved, light blue, button up shirt, and over that a darker blue vest. Her legs are encased in a pair of dark blue pants that easily bend with her oddly bent legs.

The lab is, once more, fairly quiet. Occasionally one science device or another goes 'PING', and seated not far from the door is a bored looking architect, playing some doubtlessly pointless hologame over his pda. The calico critter on his shoulder occasionally joins in. If kibitzing can be said to be joining in.

Seems the lab is missing one big green Hek female. Well, it was, because soon Ains's walking in, followed by two beds being pushed by two human males. She speaks to the men and motions to an area, then turns to head over to a table she seems to have completely taken over.

"Alloo? Alloooo?" Joca comes meandering by, and squints at the door. "Ahn YES, 'ere it is," she says, heading inside, somewhat proudly that she's found it again. "I used to come 'ere all se time. Well, mostly usser places I only 'ad to come to medbay once because I got stabbed by monkey squirrel..." she says, to someone behind her. "Ahn! 'allo, Monsieur Kethren, Capitan Aina. You needed some 'elp wis Mickee? What did 'e roll in now?"

James Sterling walks in behind Jocaira, gazing around the room as if looking for danger or alternate exits. He nods in greeting to Kethren and takes an extra moment or two in observation of the Hekayti woman. "Yeh," he drawls in his typical Australian accent, "where is th'bugger?"

Keth and Floriana look up from the game and wave at Joca in unison. "Evening, Joca. Aina. Awhile ago I was assisting in the recovery of a derelict ship... the pilot and one other were very sick. And while I was quite willing to recon via Nuala, he decided it would be a great idea to board said ship without protective gear. He's a carrier, and needs to be treated."

Aina lifts a hand and waves to the newcomers, then leans down to peer into a microscope, while scribbling into a notebook. She lets Kethren speak before saying something as well, "We've been working almost nonstop, and believe we have a cure ready." She motions to the two beds without looking up, "Volunteers. There'll be more. So many brave people..."

Jocaira quite literally facepalms. "Paaaaaaaah. 'e also sought it would be great idea to not visit se Doctair to get immunize. Said it was going to do somesing -bad- to 'im." She sighs, moving her hand from her face to rub her temples. "Ahn, -good-. But yes, I can see why you need 'elp. I'm sure your volunteers are very brave and very good and very much not like Monsieur Mickee. Did 'e get loose? We did no see 'im anywhere on se estacion."

Sterling frowns. "How likely is it any of us've picked up this rot Micky's carryin'?" he asks, then glances to Jocaira. "Or does the standard immunization protect ya from that?"

Kethren sighs and reaches up to scratch Floriana "We do seem to have lost track of him again, yes. Slippery little guy... Anyway, it's only contagious via fluid transfers, so most of us should be just fine. None the less, he was one of the first to conract it, so he needs to be treated on principle. Even /if/ the copious amount of booze in his bloodstream likely kept him from getting sick."

Aina straightens and rubs her face with both hands, then grabs a few things before making her way to the patients. She remains quiet while getting them ready, which consists of hooking them up to a few machines and getting IV's going.

Jocaira makes a rather priceless *eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeuw* face. "Well. Sat... explains... why most of my people 'ave not gotten sick, sen. Nobody really touches Mickee, and well 'e doesn't share food or drink, eiser. At least nussing worth sharing. Anyone who does get sick usually goes to se doctair in se Comorro labs. Do you sink sis is somesing new, sat needs some new medicine? Should we get some, you sink, because of being in contact wis Mickee?"

Sterling nods to Kethren, relaxing as he explains the method of transfer. "No worries, then." He shakes his head. "Bloody Micky," he says, in echo of his response when Joca told him back at headquarters why they were coming to Olympus. "So we need t'find 'im an' bring 'im back 'ere. Fantastic." He makes a face when Jocaira mentions sharing food. "I wouldn't touch anything Micky's been into with a ten foot pole," he avows. "Somethin' ain't right about that bloke."

Kethren chuckles "Well, once we're sure this cure works, we'll work on a vaccine. Although really, if more people would just get what Doc Al offers, it wouldn't be an issue. Meantime, I wouldn't worry about treatment unless you start showing symptoms... unlikely unless Micky somehow spikes the water on Comorro."

Aina glances briefly at Joca and James, a brow arched, then she sighs and goes back to work. Seems she's rather intent on getting things going with the two volunteers. After a few moments, though, she looks up at the other three, "Don't stress about it too much. Hopefully this will work. We have high hopes." She smiles briefly before going back to work.

Jocaira, hardened mercenary captain that she is, gets an expression that looks like the very idea of Micky spiking the water on Comorro, purposefully or accidentally, with -any- fluid belonging to or once belonging to himself... has a fair chance of making her throw up. She even holds her closed fist up to her mouth for a moment before flicking her pack of cigarillos out of her sleeve. Then, she remembers that she's in a medibay, and flicks it right back into her sleeve, settling for a lozenge out of a container she fishes out of her cleavage. "Nnnh, mon dieu," she groans, squeezing her eyes shut for a moment. "Hokay," she finally says, with some effort. "We will get Monsieur Mickee out 'ere for treatment."

"If 'e did that," Sterling comments, one corner of his lip curling in distaste, "I'd have t'break 'im in half." He casts a half-curious, half-concerned look at Jocaira, then nods at her declaration. "Tout de suite," he adds.

Kethren nods "It's not something I think he'd do, but the point remains. I do think we're on to something with this cure we're testing though. The real concern at this point is seeing if it causes many side effects. Aina does a very good job with these things."

Aina flashes Kethren a quick smile and shakes her head slightly, "Just do my best to help. Nobody wants to be sick." Now done she says a few quiet words to the two patients before stepping away, letting them get some rest, and pulls the curtain around them, "We'd really appreciate it if you brought him in. Just...Try not to hurt him, ok? The man is obviously set in his ways, and I'd rather not have him upset and disruptive when he's here."

"Oh, si degoutant," Joca murmurs, making another *blee* face before shaking her head and snapping back to the task at hand. "But of course, a cure would be good, especially if sere is even se small chance it will spread to se rest of us. We are too busy wis sings to deal wis to go and 'ave any of our people get sick. And, well if 'e is se carrier monkey, 'e can deal wis side effects. Probably won't even notice, as decrepit as 'e already is. Yech." She nods her head to Aina. "I will do my best, Doctair, but I must tell you sere is fair chance Mickee would be disruptive even if 'e came willingly."

"'Salright if 'e's concussed when we bring 'im in?" Sterling asks, grinning. After a moment he holds up a hand. "'M kidding. But I can't imagine he'll come quietly. Gonna have t'sedate 'im or somethin' if y'want 'im here."

Aina rubs the back of her neck and sighs as she drops onto a stool, "Well...Just get him here. With as little pain as possible. I know he doesn't like doctors at all. I'd like to try and get him to see that we're not all bad."

"Do not feel poorly, we can not even get 'im to see sat sere is liquor sat is -not- cheap swill to drink. 'e is just... 'ow do you say, old and set in 'is ways," Joca says, gnawing a little bit on her lozenge. Smells minty. And, something-else-y. But mostly minty. She raises an eyebrow at Kethren. "Complimentary still repair kits?"

"Micky absolutely /hates/ doctors. He's got some mad conspiracy theory 'e tried t'explain the once..." Sterling frowns, then points a finger toward Jocaira. "No, I think /you/ explained it." He frowns, shaking his head. "I don't reckon it'd make any more sense comin' from him, anyhow." He smiles at Kethren. "Still gonna haveta bonk 'im over th'head t'get 'im in the medbay. 'Cos odd as he is, I don't reckon he'd fall fer 'free repair kits ... in the medical ward.'" He laughs on hearing Aina's comment. "Y'd have a better chance convincin' a fish t'take a walk."

Kethren smriks at James "Don't see why not. Those things often use supplies swiped from medical bays. Where else would you get a free repair kit?"

Aina leans on the counter, chin propped up in one hand as she listens to everyone, "I'd rather you not bonk him in the head. We'll need him coherent enough to tell us how he's feeling. If we have to strap him down, then we will...I don't want to, but, if it needs to be done, then it needs to be done..."

Jocaira blinks at Kethren. "...anywhere else?" She says, seeming more than a little confused, but she shakes her head. "Okay no bonking, and well I don't sink I 'ave enough sedatives to knock 'im out, so I am sinking guile it is. 'e is very 'ung up on being big merchant boy, maybe you could lure 'im 'ere wis some medical supplies for our dealings wis se Multvaros Commerce Collective sere? Sat might work." Rubbing her nose, she yawns a bit. "Dammit, even blocking me from a distance, Mickee. Well, I suppose I should get back to se 'eadquartairs, ne? You let me know what maybe you come up wis and we will collaborate story?"

Sterling shrugs at Kethren. "Mebbe. But much as he don't wanna be near a doctor, I got doubts." He smiles over at Jocaira. "That could work. He's been runnin' about like a mad thing gatherin' gear for us lately." He shrugs. "We'll find out when we give it a go, yeah?"

Kethren nods "Well, alright. That's probably more reasonable. I'll flesh out some details tonight and forward em on when they seem coherant."

Aina nods and straightens a bit, "Let us know ahead of time if you do manage to get him here. I'd like to have a room just for him or an area blocked off so he won't disturb anyone else. And thank you for helping." She flashes them both a smile, then yawns and rubs her face with both hands.

"Very good idea. Hokay Monsieur Kethren you let me know when plan is togeser and we will back you up, sen you can let Doctair Aina know and can get 'im a nice padded room," Joca says, punctuating the statement with a discreet little cough, more of a commentary than any kind of symptom. "Monsieur James? Shall we get back to se 'eadquartairs and our previous engagement?"

Sterling chuckles at Joca's suggestion of a padded room for Micky. He nods to her, lifting a hand to offer Kethren and Aina a wave.

Kethren waves with a slight smirk "G'nite you two." before turning to Aina "There any more we can do tonight?"

Aina waves to the two and turns to Kethren, "Just wait and see what happens, really. We can either stay here ourselves, or have someone moitor them so we can try to sleep a little."
