Fuel freighter wrecks in sensitive wetlands

Posted on July 14, 2014 By Brody No Comments on Fuel freighter wrecks in sensitive wetlands

MIAMI, FLORIDA – A cargo freighter hauling toxic fuel for interplanetary ships making the transit from the Solar Consortium Yards to Luna and Mars crash landed in the Everglades this afternoon shortly after launch from Cape Canaveral.

It’s unclear how the accident happened, but the pilot – although badly wounded – survived the wreck and investigators are recovering the black box.

Authorities estimate that about 15,000 gallons of fuel spilled from the freighter before hazmat workers could seal the breach.
