New book questions Kamir truth

Posted By: Brody Article: APR08-6 Reported To: SBS Reported On: Sivad Reported At: Sun Apr 06 13:18:49 3008 GRAND ENAJ, SIVAD - Wynton Simon-Wheat isn't sure who or what is dwelling on the planet Nocturn. But no matter how much they want to call themselves Kamir, he just doesn't buy it.Simon-Wheat, the xenoanthropology professor who first raised questions about this two years ago, has published a book called "Nexus of Truth." In the book, Simon-Wheat conducts a detailed examination of the rise of the ancient Kamir, the evolution of their Ri'Kammi minions, the Hive Mind's revolution, and the final conflict between both races that seemed to obliterate them all."Parallel to this struggle," Simon-Wheat told SBS, "we have the struggles between the Mystics of Val Shohob and their Timonae brethren, and the utter destruction of the Mystics during the Kretonian War. With the loss of the Kamir, the Mystics fell onto the hardest of times."Led by Eye Mordecai, a contingent of Mystics left Val Shohob to travel beyond the Multiverse Nexus and returned just a couple of years later, claiming to have "ascended" to become the new Kamir."I maintain that whatever they have become, it is not Kamir," Simon-Wheat said. "For all we know, they are not even truly the people who left this galaxy to explore beyond the Nexus. They may be nothing more than puppets of a more advanced race with a darker agenda than we have yet to imagine."

Planet-wide search for missing Quaquan Chief

Posted By: Quaquan Article: APR08-12 Reported To: INN Reported On: Quaquan Reported At: Mon Apr 14 12:22:09 3008 FOUR CORNERS, QUAQUAN - Unconfirmed reports are currently emerging that the current Quaquan Chief, Distant Star Windchaser, is missing. The Quaquan Council of Elders has issued a statement denying that the Chief of the Qua is missing and stating the he is currently away on a scheduled Vision Quest and is not expected to return for some days. High-level sources within the Council however, have said that the Chief was expected to return after only a day or two. Search parties are currently scouring the planet after an aide to the Chief raised the alarm when he discovered the Chief had left the Vision Cavern without trace, said a Council source. This comes at a critical time for the Qua Council of Elders as a number of the Council have passed away in recent years and have been replaced by a younger generation of Chiefs. This younger faction has been promising sweeping reforms and modernisations bringing the Qua into the 31st century but have been held at bay so far by the influence of Chief Distant Star Windchaser.

Chief still missing - Council "very concerned"

Posted By: Quaquan Article: APR08-14 Reported To: INN Reported On: Quaquan Reported At: Wed Apr 16 08:28:32 3008 FOUR CORNERS, QUAQUAN - In a surprise statement today, the Quaquan Council of Elders said that they were now "very concerned" for the wellbeing of Chief Distant Star Windchaser who has been missing for several days. The Chief took a leave from his official duties this week in order to perform a ritual Vision Quest but officials say that he is not at the location that he normally uses for his quests and they currently cannot find any traces of him. Concern is growing for his wellbeing as the Quaquan ritual involves spending time in the wilderness without food.No comment has been made however on the students who are peacefully protesting outside the Council chambers. Calling for the council to select a new Chief in an emergency meeting, the students have issued their own statement in support of the younger Chiefs, calling the faction the "Yi Deezh'aazh" Chiefs meaning "New Moon" or "Travelling Together". INN spoke to some of the protestors"We're not protesting, we're just showing our support for the Yi Deezh'aazh Chiefs. For too long we have faced our past and ignored the future under the hand of Chief Distant Star. It is time now to turn, and face the future and embrace it with welcoming arms."Popular support seems to be behind this drive for modernisation, with unofficial polls showing increasing support from the people. The Council declined to comment at this time and the search for the Chief continues.

Phyrrian War Allies Keep Watch

Posted By: Joker Article: APR08-15 Reported To: INN Reported On: Sivad Reported At: Wed Apr 16 20:09:14 3008 The following press release was provided to INN by Dr. Nevirrea Giraliez of the ECWI Public Relations office. A Royal Naval Service spokesperson confirmed the announcement but declined further comment. An uneasy peace has persisted since the new Phyrrian Overmind announced its intent to end hostilities and warned of three rogue warships at large under the command of the previous, damaged Overmind. While the Phyrrians have not yet responded to calls for peace talks, the allies of the Phyrrian War have today chosen to release one piece of good news.Since late January of this year, we have been served by the watchful eyes of a new scientific project, the Long Baseline Tachyon Telescope (LBTT). This sensor array aims to make the galaxy safer for all by watching the Orion Arm for military and natural threats while still maintaining respect for the sovereignty of all nations. This project has been made possible by a collaboration between Antimone's famous Echo Cluster Weather Institute and the Centauran Research Institute. The work together has been a long time in the making. In the words of CRI liason Ketnesqinzatbay, "The astronomers of the CRI and ECWI have long admired each other's respective accomplishments in science, but exchange of data and other cooperative efforts had in the past been somewhat limited by cultural and procedural differences." The ECWI is pleased to announce to the public that we overcame differences to protect our galaxy.

Posted By: Brody Article: APR08-17 Reported To: SBS Reported On: Sivad Reported At: Fri May 02 06:39:25 3008 YNOS, SIVAD - Military officials have privately alleged that Odari participated actively in the opening of the Phyrrian war, but OATO investigative teams have still yet to determine what role the Odarite Merchant's Guild may have played.Despite the heavy price the OMG has paid for its involvement, it today expressed a desire to reach out to afflicted worlds.Today, the new Odarite Trade Minister Kz'ikzr released an official statement to the galactic press."Before she died, the last queen of our world left behind a clutch of eggs, among which were two queens. We are pleased to announce that both are healthy and growing, and the future of the Odarite people is assured. We deeply regret our role in the terrible events that caused the death of untold millions, and would like to fully commit ourselves to a renaissance of galactic peace and profit."Political analysts remain skeptical about this statement, pointing out the shaky economic situation of the former merchant powerhouse.University of Enaj economist David West suggested, "Odari can barely support itself right now, let alone anyone else- pretty words, but their money isn't where their mandibles are."
