Orbital research facility coming online

Argent Test Site Attacked

"Mercenaries, perhaps, hired by the competition. Rest assured, we will be carrying out a complete investigation." When confronted with still images of blurred elongated shapes appearing over the edge of the images during the last seconds of broadcast, the spokesman dismissed them and urged people not to indulge in wild fantasies over what was simply a camera malfunction.While most questions were ignored and no further information was provided, Argent Horizons did release one statement: their hearts go out to the families of the brave men who perished during this abominable attack.There are no survivors reported.

Today, the Vollistan law enforcement agency released the details of the case involving the strange psi blast that hit much of Vollista several months ago. During their investigations they discovered several 'psi amplification chambers' that by accident or design amplified the psi powers of those that entered. The chambers have since been sealed for further study.The two Vollistans found in a comatose state have been arrested and charged with mass assault and kidnap, further charges to follow. A third conspirator, Volrigar, was in recovery in hospital for an unrelated condition, but he was seen leaving in the company of an unidentified Timonae shortly before he was due to be arrested. TERRORISTS STRIKE RALLY

Sources within the Demarian Militia report that eleven people are confirmed dead following a bomb blast and an attack by unidentified assailants.The dead include two Demaria First Party security officers, a Demarian Militia MP, Senator Firebrow Lightseeker and INN's own Claudia Livius. The Militia reports that most of the other deaths are the result of trampling following general panic among the crowd. In addition to these fatalities many more Demarians and observers received minor wounds, though at this time the New Alhira Medical Center reports that it has discharged all victims.Despite being armed with high powered rifles and grenades the terrorists did not inflict a great deal of casualties on the gathered Demarians. The only shooting fatality reported was Sharpclaws Wayminder, a Demarian Militia MP killed in the opening volley. The Militia has confirmed what a number of eye witnesses have told INN, that the terrorists have taken an as yet unconfirmed number of hostages. Speaking in the Senate today President Tuftcheek Longvision offered his condolences to the families of the dead and announced a memorial service for Senator Lightseeker and MP Wayminder. In addition the President thanked elements of the Vanguard and other offworlders at the rally, without whose intervention against the terrorists "many more Demarian lives would have been needlessly wasted."Though he did not appear in the Senate this morning Senator Twinstripes Sandwalker who narrowly escaped death at the rally issued a written statement. The Senator received minor wounds but was otherwise unhurt. He has announced the suspension of his campaign to allow for a time of mourning, specifically for the two members of his security forces killed in the initial blast. Sandwalker wrote that: "The heroic and selfless actions of these two Demarians saved many more lives. Their quick response in removing innocents from the vicinity of the bomb once they uncovered it displays a depth of courage and determination which serve as an example to all of our people."

In the intervening moments between Senator Lightseeker's closing remarks and Sandwalker actually taking the podium, Livius cuts in again, elaborating briefly on his thoughts and venturing her own expert theories on the stance of the Demaria First Party, then the shot pulls away to the rally itself.Sandwalker speaks, a powerful, emotive thunder, full of charisma. At 00:28:03, the explosion occurs, and Livius's scream pierces the mic in an overwhelming fuzz before the shockwaves temporarily knock out the camera's sound and video feed. The picture flickers, dims, then cuts out abruptly.At 00:32:19, it revives, now presenting nothing more than a confused shuffle of feet racing across the stage. Twenty-one seconds later, audio is once again online, drawing the viewer in the panicked, chaotic sounds of terrified masses and gunshots. Off-camera, Livius cries out for the final time.Less than two minutes later, the camera is appropriated once more, a blurring swash of color that resolves into an awkward close-up of the sharp, lopsided grin of one of the galaxy's most infamous figures. "Wot's yer face, Orion Arm, this's Mika Tachyon reportin'," she greets, winded and sweating, attention obviously elsewhere. "We're li-i-i-i-ive from D'maria. Wanna see a bloke get shot?"Again, the camera's view swings about, this time to present a crooked bird's-eye-view of Tachyon's outstretched and gloved left hand clutching a pistol which spits a bullet into the back of a robed Demarian on the stage. As he crumples lifelessly into a heap around his sobbing, hell-stricken hostage, she whoops victoriously, and the gun vanishes.Jumbled colors and images, brown wooden stage and black steel-toed boots, glass and confetti, blood and fur - these blaze by when the camera is lowered so its wielder may dart to the corpse and present anyone and everyone watching the video an up-close-and-personal look at one of the terrorists. Head to toe, the lens sweeps over his figure, the roguish camerawoman nattering over the sound feed all the while.An abrupt cut at 00:35:58 fills the image with an orange-furred Demarian female in a white shirt and blue pants, zooming - perhaps accidentally - with an uncomfortable blur onto her muzzle for a split-second before cutting to the Demarian MPs tending to the hysterical hostage and the rioting crowd. "Where's Silvereye?" Tachyon can be heard to ask, presumably of the Demarian woman. "Where's Longtooth?"Ground-level, at the foot of the stage, a shortish and musclebound Timonae in tee shirt and blue jeans shouts something directly at the camera, gesturing angrily. Once more, Tachyon's hand is visible, snapping out to offer him a rude gesture. He yells something back and returns the sentiment with relish.The camera rakes across the scene once more to train itself upon a massive black Demarian patterned oddly with white spots down his left side. He is speaking kindly and gently with the wounded and the miltiamen, but his presence on the holoscreen is fleeting. After one final look at the crowd, during which Battleclaw Silvereye Paintedheart and his entourage can be seen exiting a hovercar, Tachyon signs off and the video ends.

Ethan Dawson, Chief of Operations and Commander-At-Arms of Starlight Security, Inc., has marshalled his company fleet and laid siege to Tomin Kora. Traffic onto and from Shadowheart facilities has been stalled as of around 6 AM Friday morning.Dawson has issued a statement: "The Starlight Security team will never condone the murder of innocents. Renous Marquin and the Imperial Transport Group has orchestrated the deaths of over fifty innocent men and women in the employ of Cabrerra Industries. This cannot be tolerated. Starlight's fleet will remain stationed in orbit until Marquin submits to either myself or the proper authorities, or the people of Shadowheart drag him here in chains.
