Synopsis: After rifting through the multiverse, the Prominence arrives at Earth, where the crew and passengers are greeted by the locals.
Drescher Interstellar Spaceport – San Angeles – Earth
The Opodi's Light comes flying down from orbit, being directed and escourted by several Vanguard fighters. It sits down in the spaceport, and after a few minutes the doors open, and an Opodian comes out, followed by several others.
It's busy in the Spaceport tonight. People moving to and fro to reach their ships. Oh yeah, and of course the large number of San Angeles police officers holding down the fort with their weapons drawn and waiting for this unknown ship that is headed for Earth. As people begin to emerge, one detective in particular, Koh Iseul, stands and speaks loudly. "Unknown vessel, identify yourselves."
Heidi follows the rest out and blinks her eyes slowly as she looks around. "Huh.... it is like the history books." She says to herself softly.
Dement follows closely behind the Opodian and Heidi, his hands raised in response to the gathered welcoming party. "This is... What year do you think this is? It looks contemporary with Hiverspace... I hope we haven't come before they established a standardised language."
As the Viceroy comes out of the shuttle, being shouted at and seeing weapons being pointed at them, he slowly raises his hands. "We come in peace! We are unarmed! We come from hive space, we travelled through the rif! I am Narai, Viceroy of the Malencheer Solidarity!" He announces, hoping someone will listen, rather then shoot. He does not pay attention to what the other two are saying, as he is more concerned with walking out of this encounter then the historical references. Iseul slowly holds up a hand to prevent any of the cops from opening fire and instead she steps forward slowly, holstering her pistol, but keeping a hand near it. "What has brought you to earth then?" she asks. "Don't take our caution as an unwelcoming sign but we have a responsibility to protect our people."
Iso's holographic avatar comes to life with a stiff crackle of static. "Hello Captain." He says towards Narai. It takes him a moment to recognise the presence of others. "Oh!" The panda-like creature exclaims. "More Outversers. With guns, no less. Hello, Outversers." Iso waves cheerfully.
Standing near the shuttle Opodi's Light, with Dement, Iso, and Heidi - Narai puts his arms down, and takes a few steps forward. "What brings us here, you ask? Well, exploration, knowledge. To see what the multiverse has to offer. We have many from this galaxy in hivespace. And we wanted to see what was here." He looks to the others in his group, then back at Iseul, "I am an Opodian." Not like that means anything, but it's an attempt at building trust.
Heidi holds her hands up slowly and offers the officers a friendly smile, or as friendly as she can manage right now. "Ja.. well it is before our time Herr Dement.. this was all rubble in our time." She murmurs.
"Most of us are hoping to come home." Dement adds to the Viceroy's explanation, "Might have arrived a bit early though." He looks across to Heidi with a frown, ".../spoilers/..."
"Yes, I have seen your people before, at least in pictures," Iseul replies with a frown. "I and some of my companions were very recently in your universe." She shakes her head. "What can we do for your, Viceroy?" she asks politely.
Serif comes from the direction that leads to the government building, "Ah so the reports were true, and no other councilors came, tsk." and walks over to Izzy, "What do we know Officer?"
"If you require my assistance Captain, I will be monitoring the ship." And with that, Iso vanishes!
"Well, I am glad that our first meeting is with one that has been across the multiverse." Narai replies. "We want to learn. To visit. Peace. My command ship is in orbit. We are not here with hostile intent. I want to be able to create some sort of bridge between our universes so we can come and go, without incident."
Iseul gives a polite salute to Serif as she arrives. "We know that they are from another universe," she replies. "I have seen some of them before when my colleagues and I were taken there." She nods and steps back. "I will leave this in your hands, Councilor. My men will stay on hand in case you need their support."
Serif nods to Iseul and looks to those before her, "Hello I am Councilor Serif, who is your spokesperson?"
"I am Viceroy Narai, leader of the Malencheer Solidariy on the other side of the rift. A pleasure to meet you, Councillor." The Opodian replies. "These who are with me are only but a few that came through. My ship in orbit is full of those who came through to see what is here, others came because this is home."
Heidi shifts a little and offers those around a small smile. "Ummm.. this is earth ja?" The Waldheimer asks idly. "What is year?" She asks lightly before she looks over at all those around. "I am quite human." She offers up.
Dement manages a mild smile, his hands falling to his side as he falls silent.
Serif nods as she listens, "Very well, we will provide an escort for a safe location for you to stay, please accept our hospitality during your stay. We would very much like to speak to you further." She waves an officer over and gives instructions for an armed escort, for safety of course, to a nearby hotel cleared out for the purpose..
