The eldest of three, Katriana Nillu was the daughter of Xerun and Abrar Nillu. Her youngest sister was the better known Sahna Nillu.
Fastheld
As a daughter of House Nillu, Katriana always was a bit of an oddball, preferring the things of nature and especially horses. This passion stayed with her through her entire life, making her somewhat of a tomboy in her younger years. Always feeling awkward and particularly gangly, she scandalized her mother by running around like a wild-woman, learning from the stablehands. It was from them and then eventually her father's Armsmaster the art of the the bow. She was a natural and from a very young age proved to be a fine shot, quite possibly able to one day develop into one of the finest shots in Fastheld.
After her eighteenth year, Katriana left her family home to serve as a lady-in-waiting for her childhood friend, Contessa Sophia Mikin. It was here that she met her future husband, Norran Lomasa, who was ironically attempting to court her charge. The two quickly fell in love and were given permission to wed. Becoming the Lady of Riverhold, she spent her days in happiness, eventually becoming with child. Tragedy struck the young woman when news spread that her husband had been murdered.
She sank into a heavy depression, giving birth to her daughter and caring for her husband's estate. While traveling through Lightholder Crossroads one day, she realized that her husband was in fact still alive, having been trapped in the Shadow District for some time. In her state of shock, she avoided Norran entirely until they agreed to nullify the marriage. Sometime later, the two seemed to reconcile and were even planning to rewed but in a surprising turn, Norran chose to keep things as they were. Devastated, Katriana left and the two remained on very poor terms.
Somewhat lost, Katriana wandered from thing to thing, partaking in the team that discovered Crown's Refuge, learning a great deal in the process. After returning to the city-state of Fastheld, she seemed more at peace though still lost. As her sister ascended to the Duchy of Nillu, she was appointed the Knight-Captain of the Argent Claw - their House Knights. This gave her some purpose. Around this time, she met Alin Mikin, a local guardsman for his House and he began to teach her the ways of the sword. The two began to develop feelings for each other and were given the right to court. Before they could wed, she was taken through the rifts to Hiverspace.
Hiverspace
After being brought to a new universe, Katriana almost immediately dropped off the grid, unable to handle what she was experiencing. During this time, she met with Nejah Seamel and her team. They all wanted to have a piece of home for themselves and while working with Svajone, they created Equinox Ranch on Fortrain.
Once the Ranch went public, she became the head-trainer, overseeing most visitors and fielding many of the inquiries. It was a happy time for her. On a routine trip up to Svajone for supplies, she stumbled across Alin Mikin working at the local restaurant. The two were reunited after such a long time apart and seemed to resume their former relationship.
In the recent months, however, the two have not had as much time to be together with Katriana's schedule at the ranch and his with his own work which has placed some strain on their relationship.
