The Mava Tree is a rare species of tree that grows only in the most treacherous and remote areas of the mountains upon B'hira. It's fruit is highly sought after for it's unusual combination of bitter, sour and sweet flavours, making it a very expensive commodity on the market; a single, fresh fruit often selling for upwards of 500 credits depending on the quality.
Pickled and Candied varieties are also available, and often slightly cheaper, though this too will depend on the quality of the fruit that had been used in the production of such varieties.
In appearance the tree is a short, stubby and gnarled, and this is due to the harsh conditions upon B'hira, making this tree a highly rugged species. It comes into bloom in late January, the flowers varying in colour depending on the health of the tree. If the flowers are pale pink to a white, then the tree is either old or unhealthy, making a dark rose hue the more desirable colour for the blooms to be. Similarly the fruits share the same colouration as the blooms, oval shaped with a tough, prickly outer skin. Inside the fruit is of such a soft consistency that many NormalSpacers may find it undesirable a texture, likely thinking the fruit is rotten.
