Background

Born in the Earth year 2210, some twenty years before the liberation of Narn, Ru’Toth was born on Narn during the Centauri occupation. Born under the name Sha’Quan, at the age of ten (as is custom on Narn) he took on the name Ru’Toth. Both of his parents would be executed shortly before the Centauri withdrawl from Narn and its colonies. After their withdrawl, Ru’Toth would study under the tutelage of a Drazi archaeologist who came to Narn to help renew a number of ancient ruins that were both plundered by the Centauri during their occupation, and heavily damaged during their withdrawl. Ru’Toth had no stomach for military conquest, with the Kha’Ri putting major efforts into rebuilding its military to ensure what happened with the Centauri would never happen again.

After almost a decade on Narn searching ancient ruins, Ru’Toth left Narn to explore several off-world ruins with his Drazi counterparts. He became heavily invested in xenoarchaeology, studying ruins and artifacts from countless other worlds. In the last five years prior to 2258, Ru’Toth was hired as an outside consultant for InterPlanetary Expeditions (IPX), working on several deep range exploratory missions. He became a Narn of renowned, and the Kha’Ri had requested that he return home to help excavate and renew a number of high profile ruins on Narn and their outer colonies, however Ru’Toth didn’t see much use in that when he could make a decent living with IPX and had the opportunity to see some interesting worlds, rather than just study Narn artifacts.

Ru’Toth left IPX shortly after Babylon 5 went online. He felt that he could acquire, trade and see much more out on the frontier then he could begin stuck on a world for months or years on end. The allure of Babylon 5 was also something that attracted him to the station - countless races coming and going, new opportunities to explore. He took what credits he had and headed for Babylon 5. Now, he waits to see what opportunities await him.
