Poised approximately two thousand kilometers from the inner edge of Stjerne’s outermost asteroid belt, Steintygge Station serves as an unloading and refueling station for the belt’s more than ten thousand asteroid miners. Designed in 2625 by iconic architect Litlausse and named for a well-loved Storsjo who had died the previous year, it was originally built to provide high-class housing near the belt after a Cesium discovery made many of the miners quite wealthy overnight. By 2629, the deposits had dried up and the station had become a haven for yuppie spacers. A breach in ’32 killed 11 people, and was eventually blamed on forged load tests on an arch system placed all through the station, causing Stjerne System Command to condemn the station. It was reopened in ’35 as a public station, with most of the residences converted into ore storage, fuel storage and a trading floor. Under some legal loophole, the original bar was kept and reinforced, creating a bizarre overall look.

The station is known to outsiders for its rough and tumble miners and the Merry Muskbamsel, a yuppie bar turned taxidermied miner hangout.
