The Svajone Coalition is the name given to the planets, space stations, and area under the administration of the Svajone.

Leadership

The Svajone Coalition is ran by an elderly human Outverser named Mikage, serving as both station commander as well as the head of the Svajone's government. Top assistants and advisers to Mikage make up the upper echelons of the Svajone's leadership, collectively known as 'Svajone Command.' These leaders are tasked with diplomatic, cultural, legal, and military tasks of the Svajone.

IC Territory

The Svajone occupies territory of at least three star systems outside of 'known space' starting near Falar and B'hira. Current locations PCs can access via shuttle travel include:

  • Svajone
  • Fortrain

Legal

In the interests of characters knowing what to expect within Svajone Coalition territory, a sample of answers to the most common legal questions has been provided. An effort has been made to put this legal information in normal English, attempting to use this page to skirt the intent of the legal information provided may be hazardous.

Basic Legal Information

  1. Terran Standard is the official language of government and business on the station. Note that this does not mean one is prohibited from speaking another language on the station, but rather states that those on the station have the right to be able to conduct any governmental or business transactions in Terran.
  2. Citizens of the Svajone may carry weapons on board, so long as ranged weapons are kept 'two steps' from firing. (In a practical sense, this means it takes one round to prepare a legally maintained weapon to be fired). Those performing security or military service on the station are exempt from this requirement. The Command level is an exception, where those not performing relevant security or military duties are banned from carrying weapons. In some rare cases, these restrictions may be waived. Non-citizens are barred from carrying weapons on the station. Without alerting staff or someone with authority on the station (namely Mikage) to the intent to perform a smuggling roll, it will be assumed all on the station are in compliance with armory laws.
  3. Light and medium armors are legal to wear on the station, though it may raise suspicion and scrutiny among policing forces.
  4. Citizens of the Svajone have two basic options for payment of dues and taxes to the station. The first is a direct contribution to the Svajone treasury. The other option is performing service work on the station for a set number of hours per week (on average 16-25). Citizens are permitted to perform other work privately as desired, provided it is in accordance with other Svajone laws. - Note: This is purely for background material for PCs and a potential excuse to take part in Svajone events. Players are not required to spend time RPing their characters doing mundane tasks they aren't interested in or paying money to the org.
  5. Citizens of the Svajone are required to maintain proper station identification for submission to security upon request, as well as when entering restricted areas of the station.
  6. Application for citizenship is open to anyone who makes arrangements to pay dues to the station, whether via direct payment or labor, and submits to a blood or tissue sample for station records.

Commercial Law

  1. In the interests of not making this page extremely long on commercial law, it is generally held that contracts shall be honored, and those purchasing goods and services have the right to acquire products free of defects, so long as the contents of the contracts or goods and services do not violate other Svajone laws.
  2. There are currently no racial or nationality restrictions on who may trade in Svajone territory, so long as an individual has not been banned from the station and the individual does not violate other Svajone laws.
  3. Most items are legal to trade on Svajone. Trade of sentients is prohibited. Trade of weapons and armaments require authorization by the Svajone.

Other Legal Information

  1. Generally speaking, in public areas assault, theft, breaking and entering, kidnapping and similar crimes will receive the attention of station personnel.
  2. Psionics, while not banned, are suppressed. This means any psionic activity on the station suffers a -4 modifier. While the use of psionics is not illegal, they do tend to subject one openly using them to additional scrutiny. In addition, most crimes committed with a psionic component tend to result in the perpetrator receiving a psiectomy (the removal of the part of the brain that allows one to use psionic abilities).
