Thalia

Description

This woman, while graced with lovely features, has the curse of being about 8'6" tall, much larger than the average human. When she's not wearing her helmet, long, snow white hair is revealed, cascading down her back to land with a slight curl at the small of her back. She has extremely fair skin, almost pale, but with a bright glow to it, almost as if she glows in the dark. In stark contrast, she has extraordinarily intense bright green eyes most of the time, though they fluctuate from time to time, particularly when she's feeling overly emotional. Her body is toned but not bulky, with only slight but very elegant curves, toned legs, and perfectly proportioned limbs. She has a cute heart-shaped face, though her slightly thinner-than-normal lips are usually a straight line, in an absolutely neutral position, offsetting the cuteness and making her seem a little unfriendly at first glance. She doesn't seem to speak much, but when she does, she has a soft, song-like voice that seems to echo in the back of one's mind, disturbing most individuals when spoken to for the first time. She has two long triangular tattoos under her eyes and a spherical shape on her forehead.

She usually wears full body, form-fitting plated armor of a shiny pearl-white hue with a strange green symbol inscribed on the right breast: a strange pointed U shape with a ball of green underneath. She has a helmet of the same pearly-white with a green visor that is generally concealed beneath the rest of the helmet, only coming down in combat or dangerous (sometimes even embarrassing) situations, covering her whole face. She has two holsters on her right hip and one on her left, supported by what looks like a utility belt. The two on the right are holding, from front to back, a green-painted tangler pistol and a rather large dart pistol, and on the left a small stun pistol. There are a few ammo canisters hanging from the back part of the belt that often knock together, making a metallic clanking sound.

What other people say about her

"She looks like a walking snowflake" - unattributed

"A reserved woman, who exudes a certain inner confidence. She seems wise and seems like she's seen and been through much. Despite her lack of apparent emotion, or perhaps because of it, each expression speaks volumes, and one has to pay attention to her subtlties to really get to know her." - Tamkul

Biography

I was born and raised in the city of Multvaros on Aukam, nearer the edges of the city but still within its confines. My family consisted of one brother and my mother, for my father had died at a young age under odd circumstances, something to do with his mind, I do not remember the specifics. Anyway, my mother taught me everything I needed to know, including how to read and write Auk and use my psionic abilities as well as I could. She also taught me everything she knew about how to mend wounds, treat illnesses, and even how to perform complicated medical procedures. I was naturally adept at it, and I was an eager learner, so I picked everything up very quick, before I was even half a century old. But, one day, we came across an illness unlike any we had ever seen. My brother came down with a sort of mind sickness. He began to complain of awful headaches and voices all around him, familiar voices. Sometimes he even heard mother and I in his head. We thought he was going insane or something, and asked him to see a doctor about it, but we were not extremely concerned. Our doctors were the best in the universe, after all. But the danger turned out to be much more real than we had ever expected. One afternoon, coming back from a shopping trip, I found my brother lying on the floor near the entrance to our house, his nose and ears dripping blood. I dropped all my things and rushed to his side, but it was too late. He was already long dead, his body was cold. The autopsy showed he had had a terribly large aneurism, and had died quickly in extreme pain. The whole ordeal almost broke me, but I was eventually able to continue my life, slowly forgetting my brother as the years passed. But then, one day, I began to hear the voices too. My mother was very concerned about me, but I told them not to worry. However, within a few days of my own affliction, my mother began to be infected, and no one, even with our advanced medical and scientific knowledge, could find out why. We tried and tried, but more and more we felt ourselves slipping away. I felt myself on the brink of insanity, but it all went further downhill when my mother died of thewhatever it was. I went as quickly as I could to the best doctor I could find, to try and find SOMEONE that could help me, but even that was futile. I decided, then, to travel offworld, maybe find some help for myself and my people elsewhere. I travelled for a matter of years, and I met many strange and different folk along the way, but no matter where I went, no one could figure out what was wrong with me, and their voices were added to the cacophony. But then one day, one morning during a stay on Comorro station, it all stopped. Just like that. I woke up and the voices were gone. But, I found that if I concentrated hard enough, I could hear the thoughts of others, and even project my own! It was amazing, and even quite scary! There was no way I was insane, of course...though if I were I would probably not admit it...so I was really developing telepathic abilities, which was both scary and wonderful at once. I could not help but wonder, however, what started it all. Perhaps it was genetics? Not many had heard of this affliction. Perhaps it was a secret experiment gone wrong? Both unlikely, but only time will tell what was truly happening to me, and what had happened to my mother and brother...and then theres also the question of why I'm not dead...I need answers, but where to start?...

Values and disposition

No one that knows Thalia would call her an extremely ethical person, though she has morals. She is generally very reserved, proper, and unemotional, and she values intelligence, integrity, and ambition over all. While she is nice enough, she can be easily unnerving due to her unwavering inquisitive gaze coupled with the stark contrast of her eyes against her skin and hair. She also enjoys a good read, probing peoples' pasts, and long walks on the beach.
