Who Y'ond Is

Quintessential Description
In his natural form, Y'ond is an amorphous, gelatinous blob. His volume is about ten to fifteen cubic feet and he weights just under a hundred pounds. He is almost transparent, with a bright purple tint. Of course, being Yoridini means he is a shapeshifter, so he may look completely different.

Depending on what form he assumes, Y'ond may or may not have skin, hair or eyes. However, when he has any of these, they will be purple.

Biography
Y'ond was born to a wealthy family on Yoridin. His mother, Y'adda had inherited a company that mined asteroids for quartz and his father, Y'esir, was an aid to a member of the Cluster. Unfortunately, Y'ond had difficulty shapeshifting. He could change his shape, but not his color. No matter what form he took, he still looked like clear, purplish jelly. His parents were unusually merciful and instead of expelling him for this flaw, they allowed him to stay in their house as long as he hid in the ventilation shafts when anyone else was there. The shafts were long, narrow and twisted, but he easily stretched out to fit them.
At night, he would come out to clean and make minor repairs to the house. For doing that, his parents gave him a meager ration of crystals. Since he was underfed, he stayed smaller than a normal Yoridini, only weighing 98 pounds. When guests arrived, he would return to the shafts and listen as they talked with his parents. He lived liked that for fifty five years. He kept practicing shapeshifting and eventually he was able to become opaque and even achieve slightly different shades of purple.
Y'ond was grateful to his parents, but he wished he could talk to someone besides them. Finally, he was discovered when he tried to have a conversation with the daughter of a visiting official. After that, he was forced to leave Yoridin. He made his way to Comorro, figuring if they were accepting the Outverser refugees, they might have work for him as well. Using his past experience, he was able to pick up various jobs as a cleaner, sometimes for credits, but usually in exchange for goods or services.
In spite of everything, he is still optimistic and hopes he will someday shapeshift properly, so he can return to Yoridin and gain his parents' approval.
