Ector is laying out training armor and weapons. As people filter in he says over his shoulder, "Don't be shy ... EVERYONE come get armor and weapons. Take both melee taggers and pistols." He turns and states, "After we are suited up we need to elect team Captains and a Referee ... the ref gets a 'God Gun' to simulate Artillery and mortars with ... if we need them. Tonight's event is capture the flag ... the flag tonight is captured by the team with the last man standing."
Ikin steps out of the back and takes up a laser pistol and a tagger-sword, holding the gun in his left hand and the pseudo blade in his right, which he leans on as he dons some Falari-fitted armor. He kind of looks ridiculous when fitted with this stuff. Like a child wearing his dad's police armor.
Shok walks in with his own armor. Noteably it's of the exact same variety of the training armor except far more ornate and crafted specificaly for Shok. By Shok. To Ector he asks "I don't suppose it'd be cheating to use this would it?" He holds up his couple of day's work of armor. The Magaigh also grabs himself a tagger pistol and his melee weapon of choice is a spear.
Ruin walks in, weaponless and armorless, but the gently glowing engineer doesn't pick up armor or weapons to remedy this. Instead, he has a little folding chair with him, and finds a corner to sit in. And set up a little folding table and ...computer. With camera. Apparently it's time to take extensive notes.
Rukais has disconnected.
Ector laughs jovially with Shok, "I have you word of honor it registers like the other sets ... wait don't answer." He snaps up a pistol and tests Shoks armor without asking, "Asking impinging your honor ... testing it took you as your word. Of course you're not a 'bag of worms' ..."
Ikin shrugs and gives the tagging sword a couple of practice swings, testing it's weight. Nerd with a sword, this will end well...
Marine Space <MCV Alopex> ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This is a large warehouse-like room covered in black sound-muffling padding, two hundred feet to a side with a slightly domed ceiling due to the hull. Stacked and tied-down on shelves ten high on all four walls are hundreds of large, industrial bins filled with quick-build construction supplies in order to create the vast majority of needed practice scenarios in a few hours. When nothing's built, however, the space is used for general marine training.
Lockers towards the port aft contain a variety of practice weapons and standard-issue but sensor-covered armor. Locked-down controls near the lift entrance allows adjustment for High-G, Standard-G, Low-G and Zero-G situations, and allows for the upload of programs containing holographic threats to be overcome in-scenario or out, and ten feet above is a leaderboard tracking the number, quality and difficulty of hits both by and to the intangible enemies. A large pressurized lift (with two emergency ladder shafts flanking it) sits to the fore of the room, an airlock-style door leads to the skyway, and a ladder leads fifty feet up the aft wall to an emergency airlock.
Shok smirks slightly at Ector's test and dawns the ornate armor before moving over to his ring with the training spear to await the beginning of the fight. He takes a few practice stabs as well.
Kawk is the last marine to arrive. He gets his gear, taking up a curved blade, and approaches Shok. He raises his practice blade, a challenge to fight.
Ector moves opposite of Ikin and states for everyone to hear, "Three hits ... either weapon ... you're out!" "Challengers ..." "Ready! ..." Begin!"

Shok smiles as his subordinate steps up and gives him a salute before taking a stanceto start the fight. He indicates the fellow Pyracani to make the first move.
Ikin steps to one side and takes a quick, lunging strike, smashing the tagging blade between Ector's neck and shoulderblade, quickly drawing it back for a defensive parry or another strike, it'd be hard to be sure. [Skill System] Ruin rolls a 8 for Kawk at a modifier of 0. The result is 9. Shok tests his Agility + Dodging at a modifier of 0. The result is 14.
Kawk nods, and swings toward Shok, but gets nothing but air. "Quick," he says. Shok replies with a duck to Kawk's swing and then for his troubles Kawk will get a spear stabbed straight for the ribs. The Magaigh apparently takes training seriously. Shok tests his Melee + Edged at a modifier of 0. The result is 13. [Skill System] Ruin rolls a 8 for Kawk at a modifier of 0. The result is 11.
Kallyn has arrived.
Ruin gets his fur tagged as Shok's blade is too fast to dodge, and lashes out with his sword. "Not quite enough to hit," he grins.
Ector gets cracked good for stabilizing himself. He draws his own sword and tries to slash viciously ar the Falari's legs. [Skill System] Ector tests his Melee skill at a modifier of 0. The result is 6. Ikin tests his Melee + Blocking at a modifier of 0. The result is 7.

Ikin parries the blow, but not well enough to prevent a quick sting on the leg. Annoyed, Ikin flicks the practice blade up towards Ector's chin in a quick, almost flourishing arc. Ikin tests his Melee + Edged at a modifier of 0. The result is 10. [Skill System] Ector tests his Agility skill at a modifier of 0. The result is 10.
Shok tests his Agility + Dodging at a modifier of 0. The result is 8. Shok is struck but manages to be fast enough to not be completely tagged. His reply is a spearthrust for the sternum. Once again, Kawk is unable to dodge the strike fully, but he does manage to avoid a full tag - albeit just barely. Twisting in the defensive stance, he tries to strike at Shok's paws, to get him to drop the weapon. [Skill System] Ruin rolls a 8 for Kawk at a modifier of 0. The result is 12.
Ector leans back and keeps going back and goes into an Aikido roll that misses Ikin's blade by the narrowest of margins. Once he's back on his feet he draws up his pistol and attempts to tag the towering Falari at near to point blank range. [Skill System] Ector tests his Ranged skill at a modifier of 0. The result is 7. Ikin tests his Agility + Dodging at a modifier of 0. The result is 13. Ikin tests his Melee + Edged at a modifier of 0. The result is 9. Dr. Lake strolls into the training area with her medical satchel and a smile, finding herself a place to sit off out of the way and watch the action. The woman has brought a beverage and what looks like a large burrito to snack on. "Kick his ass, Ikin!" she cheers brightly. [Skill System] Ector tests his Perception skill at a modifier of 0. The result is 6.
Ikin dodges neatly to the side of Ector's tag and flicks his blade towards Ector's ribcage. The more observant of you might have noticed that his eyes quickly flicked to Ector's unguarded flank. Ector, apparently, did not.
Ector is in an odd position. He has a sword in one hand and a pistol in the other. He choose pistol again and roots himself for more stability and again aims point blank at the Falari's center mass. Ector tests his Ranged + Energy Weapons at a modifier of 0. The result is 7. Ikin tests his Agility + Dodging at a modifier of 0. The result is 8.

Ikin gets grazed for his efforts, but quite soundly smacks Ector upside the head with his stunning stick for the other half of his feint. Because this sucker's electrified, that HAD to hurt. Shok isn't tagged this time either it seems as he's just a little too fast for Kawk. His reply is another spearthrust. Though this time It's aimed at the left shoulder. And Kawk is able to parry it, twisting his blade in his hand to try and get under Shok's guard. [Skill System] Ruin rolls a 8 for Kawk at a modifier of 0. The result is 10. Omnomnom. Burrito. The Aukami woman eats happily, keeping her eyes on the fights. "MYAH!" Kallyn blurts out with a full, albeit covered, mouth, "C'mon Ikin, beat 'im like he owsh you moneh!" She chews, swallows, and takes a large swig from her beverage to wash it down. So delicate and feminine. [Skill System] Ector tests his Ranged skill at a modifier of 0. The result is 2. Shok tests his Agility + Dodging at a modifier of 0. The result is 12. Shok ducks out of the way of this shot as well and replies with a wide swing of the spear almost as if to try and slap Kawk in the face.

Ikin flicks by Ector's little laser, again not being actually HIT by it, and takes a quick thrust towards the sividian's chest. It's almost as though he's taken seven years of some bullshit college activity or something! Shok tests his Melee + Edged at a modifier of 0. The result is 14. Ector gets the close tingles for flattening himself to the ground. As soon as he's grazed he is up and slashes at Ikin with an upward blade strike. [Skill System] Ector tests his Melee skill at a modifier of 0. The result is 8. Ikin tests his Melee + Blocking at a modifier of 0. The result is 13. Ikin tests his Melee + Edged at a modifier of 0. Snap! Ikin's blade quite thoroughly snaps against Ectors in a quick clash of electricity a second before Ikin flips it upside down and thrusts it viciously into Ector's back. That's all she wrote, folks!
Kawk takes that spearshaft across the nose, yipping in pain as he hops back. He takes a moment to make sure his nose isn't bleeding, and then swings at Shok's midriff. [Skill System] Ruin rolls a 8 for Kawk at a modifier of 0. The result is 7. Ector falls stunned to the floor.
Shok tests his Agility + Dodging at a modifier of 0. The result is 12. Shok jumps back slightly to avoid this latest shot and replies with another spearthrust this time aiming the tip right at the other Pyracani's jaw. Shok tests his Melee + Edged at a modifier of 0. The result is 11. [Skill System] Ruin rolls a 8 for Kawk at a modifier of 0. The result is 5.
And third time's the charm; Shok flattens Kawk with that spearpunch, and the other Pyracani lowers his head in surrender.
Ikin moves to stand near Kallyn, leaning on his "sword" and panting a bit, "well, that was fun. Uh... Hi, doctor Lake..."
Ector gets up and asks, "Winners vesus Winners Losers Versus Losers or just call it a night?"
Ruin heads into Aft Lift <MCV Alopex>. Ruin has left.
"Hi, Ikin," Kallyn says brightly, "Good job. I take it that arm's doing well?" NOM. Burrito. Swig.
Ector states, "With that ... I call it a night with Shok and Ikin as our two top students tonight. They will meet NEXT week. I hope to see you all tomorrow. Thank you for coming!"
"Uh... Am I a student...?" Ikin puts the stun weapons in the pile, "Uh... I'm... Oh, nevermind." Ikin says, pulling off his gear and adding it to the pile. "Call it beginner's luck or something."
"Beginner's luck my ass," Kallyn giggles, "You whooped him good, enjoy it!"
Shok chuckles a bit as he removes his extra ornate armor and puts the spear back before saying to Ikin "Let him think what he wants I guess. I just came down to show my marines I can still whip them in a fight." To Kallyn he says "I think I've seen you around but never got your name." The magaigh steps forward offering a very outverser handshake saying "I'm Shok. Magaigh."
Ector laughs, "Very True! I was beaten MOST skillfully! But Everyone is a student. No exceptions ... everyone. No one is EVER done learning."
Ikin leans back on a table, and rubs his eyes, "Erm... I'm alright, I guess..." Ikin nods to Kallyn, "Erm... If you wanna have a look at my arm or something, go ahead... It feels better."
