Another Vessa Surprise

Summary: Vessa awakens after a week of rest.

Cast: Akamatsu, Alhambra, Naoi, Sadie, Vessa.

Air Date: {{{air_date}}}

Setting: Workout Room- Eiru, Pyracan

Mirrors line the room, allowing one to watch themselves as they work out. Equipment of every kind fills the room, from weights to running to whatever fancy new machines the future brought. Towel racks rest against the far wall, near the entrance to the changing room and shower room for guests. The layout of the workout room has been changed; a lot of the equipment has been pushed over to one wall, leaving only a few machines available. The rest of the room has been separated by the wheeled fabric walls from the old medical tent into sleeping areas. The beds are familiar too; looks like they were salvaged out of storage as well. There is a little crate of fresh linens and towels by the entrance to the changing/shower room. Looks like there's anywhere from three to four other people living here at any given time. "-That- is downright unsettlin'," Alhambra drawls, shaking her head a bit and taking another hard drag on the cigarette. "Hell," she sighs. "I ought to get back to the house, make sure things are good."

Zu nods, flapping to the only person left in Sadie, perching on her shoulder to say goodbye to the departers.

Sadie waves at Xanya as she leaves, then look at Al and smiles. "May I come with you?"

"Sure thing, hon. You ought to check on your horsies anyhow," Alhambra drawls, leading the way to the shuttles. A shuttle waiting on the tarmac flashes Alhambra over.

Alhambra peers into the room, checking the various little 'rooms' for guests before padding over to Vessa's, which is the biggest home-made cubby closest to the bathroom. Chez Meers, open for business. She bends to set a bowl of beef noodle casserole (no scraps here) in front of the Falkin currently posted at the foot of Vessa's bed, and goes to check on the Guest/Patient of Honor.

Sadie follows behind Alhambra, a not-so-happy look on her face.

Akamatsu is lucky enough to have been waiting at the house for Vessa as she came with Sadie, following behind as well, perhaps hoping to get a glance at the former student gone empress in her bed. Probably quite well informed on the matters at hand from the girlfriend of his in the room.

Vessa appears to be laying quietly, well for a while anyway. The first thing to notice would be Nari, pausing in her eating to shoot a look Vessa's way, as her eyes fly open and she rushes to the bathroom thingy, she does manage to shut the door somehow before hand. Assumptions are made that the audience can't hear the serenade she makes to the toilet.

"Well, shit," Alhambra drawls, watching Vessa go pelting by with an odd feeling of deja'vu. Well at least this time there's no chasing. "S'a bit early for morning sickness. Have to pick up some ginger chews..." Not being overly squeamish, Al leans into the general area of the bathroom and calls, "Honey you all right?"

Sadie crosses her arms and raises a brow as she waits for Vessa to finish so she can finally talk with her sister.

Akamatsu raises a brow to the bathroom as well, noting to Al, "Hasn't it only been a couple weeks? Most people can't even tell they're pregnant by that point, can they?" The ronin may not know Sadie too well, but he knows well enough when to keep his distance from a woman, and she looks rather irritatble at the moment.

A few more moments of silence before the door opens and Vessa steps out, leaning somewhat heavily on the side of the doorway. "I will be fine, sorry and thanks." She blinks blearily for a moment as she notes Sadie and Aka. Straightening she flashes them a smile, "Hey." She then seems to realize something and looks around, "Uh where the hell am I by the way?"

"My exercise room!" Alhambra replies, cheerfully. "You passed out in my office. I already had some cots in here for Hania and Sin and Tam and all so I dragged in another one. You get the penthouse suite, right next to the can. ...and a good thing, too, seems if. Toothbrushes and shit are on the sink in there."

Sadie stiffens as she sees Vessa and raises a brow. "How are you feeling?" is about all she can make herself say.

Akamatsu doesn't have to wait his turn for Sadie? Well, okay then, "Good morning, my student. Feeling a bit under the weather today?" There's certainly a degree of sarcasm there, of course. He's not stiff at all, just looking at her, perfectly natural stature, but the look on his face is that of somebody very clearly hiding all emotion.

What starts as slight surprise becomes an expression of confusion, "Uh yeah, fine now thanks." Is tossed to Sadie and Aka before she turns her attention to Al, "Thanks, I don't think I have passed out in a while. How long was I out for? I assume at least a few hours if I passed out in your office, and where is the woman with the schedule? I can't believe she hasn't been hanging around poking me awake to make some meeting or other." It is rather apparent she doesn't remember passing out, or really the past couple of weeks.

Alhambra pats the cot, with its nice fresh sheets with laundered jammies waiting patiently folded at the footboard. "Maybe you ought to sit down, hon," she drawls, nodding to both Aka and Sadie and standing rather obviously between Vessa and the door. There is no duct tape in play. Yet. "You been out for about a week, your people are handling your meetings, I am handling the complaints department, and your woman with the schedule has been shitcanned for endangering your life and the life of the little pre-human turnip you somehow got talked into having planted into your body." Grunt. "S'about the long and the short of it." The 't' at the end of 'it' is enunciated sharply, almost as though the burly human is biting the very end off of the word. People who know her would recognize this as one of the less-violent signs of 'mama bear mode'.

Sadie raises a brow to Vessa after Al speaks before blurting out. "How the hell did you get into all this, Vess?!"

Akamatsu remains, probably the most calm of the group, showing no signs of much emotion at all, though Al and Vessa would probably recognize this as a sign of something being horribly, horribly wrong, as he adds to her, "I'd really rather hoped I'd have taught you better than to go overworking yourself like that, Vessa." Yeah, he's holding back what he wants to say for the moment. While that much is obvious, his facial expression doesn't change at all. Vessa stands just outside the bathroom, having just woken up, while Alhambra stands between her and the door, Aka and Sadie further out to the sides.

Vessa eyes the bed first in something akin to trepidation. As she listens her expression goes from shock with a, "Why the hell would I do that?" to stunned realization and a quiet, "Uh oh." The last vocal expression is matched with sitting, closer to falling in a seated position, onto the bed. "Well crap." Looking to Sadie she gives a small half shrug, "I am still trying to figure out the jumble of half memories I seem to have of the past few months." Before looking over to Aka, "We touched on overworking?" Is that a hint of amusement in her voice, it doesn't last long if it is as she seems to be going over what memories she does seem to have. Something catches her attention, "Wait, who is doing the work and who sacked Mary? And what do you mean you are handling complaints, how, when did that happen?"

"You pregnant because you was told to, by people we are currently investigating," Alhambra replies, "And -everyone- on the Council has split up your work equally. Since you was insistent upon -each and every- complaint of the Danu Empire coming across your desk personally, I took it upon myself as a duly appointed Shaman of your Baile to intercept and -deal with- them. So there has been and will continue to be a valuable learning experience in it for everyone." Again, every word that ends with a 't' has that bitten-off quality to it. "You was taking -drugs- to stay awake. We had to put an end to that, unless you want your kid to be born retarded or not born at all. You can either run everything by yourself -or- be a mama. An' when I gave you the choice you said you wanted to be a mama. So here you is. In my home. Bein' looked after -proper- whilst we figure out who has turned our beloved Vessa into a doormat." Grrrunt. Alhambra sinks onto the bed, next to Vessa, and moves to drape an arm protectively around the smaller woman. "Then I will throw them a beating. So whut's this about the past few months? Is that how long you were takin' those evil tic-tacs?"

Sadie shakes her head. "No, Vessa. What the hell were you thinking with having a damn kid implanted in you?!" She sighs as she leans against the wall and looks at the ground, not wanting to move.

There is a flutter of movement past the door, and those sharp of wits will notice the flash of blonde hair and bright blue eyes for just the briefest of moment. Even the hint of someone glancing in the door's direction means the eavesdropper hastily withdrawing.

Akamatsu breathes in deeply once, and, in a bit of a dramatic fashion, removes his sunglasses. That non-emotional face suddenly seems to have an uncredible undertone of anger in it. There is no change to his face, but the ronin's eyes tell quite the story. With that he walks over to her, still a very calm stride as he kneels down a bit to ask Vessa, his eyes level with hers, "What. Happened." His voice is calm, but it's a very forced calm, as he stares into her eyes, simply follwoing her should she look away.

And look away she does not, a small frown begins as Vessa listens to Al and tilts her head in thought at the questions, "The little green things came up when I couldn't keep up with everything that was needed. I was convinced that putting the work on the rest of the council would be a bad idea due to the fact that much of the work was consecutive, if any part was missing then the rest wouldn't flow well and business would be lost, or diplomatic missions would end in failure. By that point it has been," she pauses here for a long moment, "I believe about a full week since I had more then an hour of sleep on and off. I have gone without sleep for days before but not that long. So I was handed these little green things, I didn't take them for a long time. At one point I realized that I suddenly was more awake, after my morning coffee, then I really should be. It was after that that Mary informed me that she had been spiking my coffee and handed me the pills again, by that point I needed the things to keep moving, I didn't have time to feel pissed, nor really cared enough at that point. I think it has been a few months but to be honest I haven't really looked at a calendar for a long time." After speaking this last she frowns then sighs, "As for the kid, that part is complicated." she cocks an eyebrow at Aka, "Sufficient for you?" She then look over to Al, "I am grateful that everyone is helping, and honestly I am going to say the same as I said before, as the kid exists I," she takes a pause to have a small breath, "the kid comes first, however, I will not be able to stand doing nothing."

"Annnd -that- is why this 'Mary' shitter has been in fact shit-canned, Missy Vessa. An' you can still do some work, just not too much work, and it's already been muhfuckin' delegated and I recommend you start callin' in favors to friends and business contacts to help with whutever shit you need help with. There will be no more lil green pills. Babies do not do drugs," Alhambra thunders, and then unclenches her jaw with a relatively audible *pop*. Since no one that Al does not know is presently allowed in the house, she does not glance at the door at the movement. Yet. "You can do a SENSIBLE amount of work -as decided- by what-ever obstetrician slash doula slash midwife slash whoever the fuck is qualified to see to your prenatal care that you select out of the folks -I- trust and there will be no more blind obedience to hairbrained quackery self-destructive bullshit. If anybody wants to -advise- you it can go through one or more bullshit filters, either me, or Aka, or your sister or Zu or even one of the Falkin or the Ser until you reclaim your ability to call bullshit on your own. Does that sound amenable to you?"

Sadie huffs at being slightly ignored before staring down Vessa silently. She remains quiet, not noticing Naoi as she comes in, as her eyes are completely focused on her sister.

Akamatsu gives a small huff out his nose, not quite a snort as Al would do, but certainly close enough by the ronin's standards as he replies, "No. I want to know when the hell some caffeine pills removed a woman's backbone. I certainly don't see one right now, my little student." Backing off a bit, he stands back up, "You haven't got any idea how disappointed in you I am, Vessa." He looks back to Sadie, "Now I believe your sister wishes to share words."

Naoi leans in a little, ear pressed to the wall, listening intently. She places a hand against the door frame, slowly stepping out into the open with downcast head. "Excuse me. I know that this is a bad time, but I believe that the chair that one--" She tenses, lips jaw twitching, "Nevermind. I will fix this." She whips back around, grabbing her spear as she goes.

The only sign that Vessa is irritated with Aka's words would be a slight quirk in her right eyebrow and a slight straightening of her spine, the one she does obviously still have. "I refuse to make excuses to you Akamatsu," she stands, "However, I will say this. Judge me as you wish, things happened as they did and now I need to live with the consequences, the dependence on whatever the hell those things were, that I regret, the overworking, that too, but otherwise I think I will live with it." She answers Al with a firm nod, though it is apparent by her own lack of expression, and here her eyes do NOT show how she feels, that she isn't all pleased. It is with some surprise therefore that she notes Naoi, "Ah hello," back to affable and pleasant, mask firmly in place. Turning her attention to Sadie, Vessa waits patiently for what she needs to say.

"Hey now," Alhambra rumble-croons, leaning a bit more heavily into Vessa and keeping that arm draped gently, protectively around. "There ain't nothing wrong with living with consequences so long as you do not repeat offend. And by offend I mean do not continue the self-destruction. Deep down, some part of your spirit was smart enough to come to me, smart enough to let me see whut was going on, smart enough to wake up the bear." She utters a soft chuff, and arcs a confused eyebrow at Naoi's sudden appearance and disappearance. "So now you got it, yeah? And you know I'll be with you on this road until you get to where you're happy again. Till you've gotten back to your self again, yeah? And all the spirits help anybody who gets in your way."

As Vessa turns her attention towards her, Sadie sighs heavily, almost dramatically. "What the hell, Vess?" she says slowly and softly. "First you don't come to my wedding, then your eggo is preggo.. What should I even think right now?" She looks as if she is genuinely concerned, but holding it together with some loose thread. There is the dull sound of impact from the... bathroom?

Akamatsu replies to Vessa's claiming to not have to excuse herself to him, "Good. I don't want any excuses out of you, I want you to stand up to me. I want you to prove to me that you have what it takes to do your empire justice, and your child justice." The ronin's voice is slowly growing a bit passionate as he goes, finally revealing emotion in his face as well.

Looking first surprised, "Get myself back? I thought I did with that week long nap." Although for the observant her skin is pale and she appears to be sweating, her right hand twitching near where her pocket, the one that once held those pills. "I have no intention of getting near anything close to pharmaceutical again. Vitamins sure, drugs, not so much. Not like I liked them before, I sure as hell don't now." There is a flash of anger before it is quickly hidden. Attention going back to Sadie, she looks first sad, then a hint of anger, though obviously not at anyone in the room, before she seems to go into deep thought, finally she says, "I wish I could have made the wedding Sadie, you know that. I wanted to be there, I didn't even realize until too late that the day had come and gone." She then sighs, "I can't say I had much by way of clear thought when I made the decision to," her voice fades for a moment before she contines, "I guess I still have hangups about mom," a shrug, "and stuff." Briefly she looks like an awkward teen, just a flash, before she is back to seemingly put together Vessa. Al would feel her shaking slightly however, it is not visible. Her eyes turn back to Aka and some hint of fire returns to her gaze, "I will happily stand up to you, however I think that this particular example is done." About now her stomach appears to wake up as well, loudly. Vessa appears to be trying to ignore it with no more then a wince.

"You still look like a bag of smashed assholes, honey," Alhambra drawls to Vessa, in that earnest, Al-esque way. "An' we got vitamins an' all manner of farm fresh healthful food and things for you to do an' exercise. We have not given you any drugs, just good food an' lots of it, and chamomile tea which will be good for your tummy and help you get the sleep you need. And your horsies are still here too, so you can take care of them and help out on the farm." She looks over to Aka. "Honey can you get Missy Vessa some more tea and some of Doc Mira's leftovers?" There is a long pause. "...anybody else hear a noise from the can?"

There is muted sounds of alarm, and a... splash?

Sadie sighs and bites her lip. "Hangups about mom? Vess, that's what I'm here for. I'm your sister in case you forgot. Not some baby that you picked up on a whim like a happy meal! Do you think that a baby can somehow miraculously make your life better or easier?" She sighs and shakes her head, calming herself as she shifts her weight to her other foot. "I'm sorry, Vess. I know you can't really do anything about it now and there's no use in chastising you for it. But I'm hurt. Hurt for you, for me, for the baby.. And I'm scared. But I'll be here for you." She touches the ring on her left hand before continuing, "We all will." Shortly after, her PDA rings and she picks it up. "Oh? Oh, I see. Ok, yeah, that definitely sounds like the best thing to do. Ok, I'll be back soon to start." She hangs up the phone and sighs. "Well that was Zu. Seems that /aide/ goes into convulsions when asked certain questions about the potential threat of somebody working against Vess." She pauses, looking straight at Vessa. "Zu thinks there's a coup at hand, and the only thing he can think of for why the aid was reacting in such a way is some kind of device implanted in her brain. Aina and I have been asked to do a brain scan on all employed in the Danu government." She bites her lip, not taking her eyes off Vessa.

Akamatsu just blinks a bit at Sadie, momentarily distracted from Vessa, "Yeah. Yeah, that's pretty bad." Looking back to Vessa he replies, "Okay with standing up to me, huh? Then tell me, this. Why does some traitorous aide hold more sway over you than your former si fu, and, at least I was pretty sure, a very good friend?" There is a strange mix of confusion, a small amount of hurt, and some anger in those last bits.

Looking highly amused at being told she looks like "a bag of smashed assholes", Vessa nods though it looks like she wants to argue about how very little "actual" work it sounds like she will be doing. After Sadie speaks, Vessa sighs but seems at a loss on what to say. While she is struggling with how to reply to Sadie's comment on the family side, she listens carefully to what is said dealing with Danu and the aide. "Really?" she asks in curiosity, almost rolling her words with interest fairly radiating off of her, she starts feeling her clothing and looking around. "Where the hell is my PDA? I can think of a few things that would be helpful to do on that front." Vessa does pause to answer Aka, her expression very sad and a little lost, "I don't," pause, "I didn't," another pause, this time with a sigh, "I didn't even know what was happening at the time, or card Aka, how would I have told you?" The noise from the toilet, along with Al's question, has her move unsteadily in that direction to knock on the door. She doesn't try to remove herself from Al's arm, but she does move forward.

Splash, splash, splash-- Naoi finally returns, grim and dripping wet with spear held in one hand and a plunger in the other. She doesn't say anything to in the room, she just passes by the open doorway heading toward the kitchen

Alhambra gets to her feet with a groan to follow along with Vessa. Clearly this is a multi part gesture of support, of protection, and of 'don't you dare run off on me.' "Fucked if I know where your devil PDA is at, but your pal Zu can hear whutever you're on about 'cause we got a baby monitor over there." She rumbles a bit at Aka's hurt, but well things are crashing around and Vessa needs breakfast. Dinner. Brinner. "Fuckin' coup. Really. I have half a mind to..." annnd, she trails off. "...welp. There's something you don't see every day. Missy Naoi, honey... whut the hell did you find in my bathroom? Aka hon can you er. Find out whut that is... Missy Sadie can you head into my kitchen an' get Missy Vessa some tea?" Pause. "An' me a beer please."

Sadie clears her throat before putting her hands on her hips. "I think that since we spread all of your duties around, you can just tell me what you are thinking. I will send it all to Zu - or he can just hear it - and we will deal with it accordingly since you are pretty much confined here." She smiles softly at Al before staring Vessa down again. "Stress and babies don't mix. I should know." She adds quietly before heading into the kitchen to fix the tea.

Akamatsu shakes his head at Vessa, "No, I mean why did you let yourself get pushed to the point of that much exhaustion in the first place? You know better than that, Vessa, I know, we spent damned near every day together at one point." The ronin is still swaying back and forth between angry and hurt, but they are lesser now as he adds, "You know you could've asked me for anything, and I'd have done what I could, Vessa. I'd have never let you get like...like this." The ronin says his piece before taking a glance into the bathroom, while simultaneously trying to maintain eye-contact with Vessa, A hard task.

"The water would not stop, after the use of the.. toileh?" Naoi stops, heading back up the stairs but pausing to speak. "I managed the situation, just cleaning now."

Vessa pauses as Naoi returns dripping and looks confused. Her attention is caught by first the baby monitor news first, which once spotted gets first a glare then a look of consideration, perhaps something of a devious look flashes across her face before it is gone. Her attention then goes to Sadie, "Very well, I wish to be kept informed on how this progresses. What do you mean confined here?" It is about now she begins to look somewhat concerned and looking at the walls like they might be closing in. "It is no trouble Al, I can grab food or something." Before making motions towards that now alluring doorway, Vessa meets Aka's look, "I felt like I was needed, I knew I would be busy when I decided to take on this job. Not how busy I ended up being, it was a rather subtle shift from just another report to an hour of sleep a night Aka." And then she is off, or at least she tries.

"Um yeah your ass is on the no-fly no-sail list for Eiru," Alhambra admits, allowing Vessa to lead her around towards the kitchen. "At least until we find out who's trying to fuck you up the ass without your permission. So I know you can play shit cool, so let's play it cool, yeah? You're weak, you're funky, you're disoriented an' you require medical care for your pregnancy and I don't know we'll get Doc Mira to make up some kind of medical-ese that'll make it sound like them pills fucked you up hard and you all -wobbly-. An then we hope they walk into the trap." The dusky human rumble-grumbles a bit. "While you are not confined here I would vastly preference that you do not... go running off and letting them get at you. Please."

Sadie returns from the kitchen with the tea for Vessa and a beer for Alhambra. Her face looks more saddened and distant than before, as if she is trying hard to hold back something. Or maybe forget it. Unfortunately, her distant-ness makes her walk right into the door as it opens, spilling the tea all over her. She quickly gasps as the hot tea hits her legs and gets on her knees to clean up everything, sniffing to hold back tears.

Akamatsu is now promptly ignoring Vessa in favor of her distressed sister. Guess some of that honor stuff is hard to deprogram, and soon he's upon her, helping her up and saying, "It's alright, it's alright, c'mon, let's get you to the bathroom, there's some aloe in there, that was hot tea." Regardless of any protests he'll make to haul her to her feet and get her there, simply finding the aloe for her. Assuming she's cooperative after this point, he'll simply go back and begin cleaning up the mess, after closing the door.

The floor of the bathroom is wet, and the tub is draining out the last of water with a bucket resting in it. Naoi is out the back for now. Also, it bears mentioning, that the toilet itself has a spear sticking out of it.

Wincing a bit at the news, Vessa nods and sighs, "I will stay out of trouble. Might need to get outside now and then but I won't go looking for trouble." Hearing Sadie, she moves to help but is too slow. As Aka takes her off to the bathroom, Vessa gives Sadie a quick hug, then bends to clean up, before Aka can get there. She is slow at it, and rather unsteady but she seems determined to complete the task. The occasional stomach grumble or yawn becoming apparent. To Al she says, "Isn't it a bit extreme to put me on the no-fly, no-sail list?" she does sound tiredly amused as she asks. Every now and then she shoots a worried look towards the bathroom, where Sadie has likely disappeared with Aka.

"Oh we got us a -shit ton- of outside," Alhambra drawls, fetching some paper towels to help with the cleanup and keeping herself near Vessa to serve as a support just in case. She cranes her neck at Sadie's distress, but appears to trust Aka's competency in handling the situation. "Coupla fields, whole horse paddock, barn. Chickens. Bees. Coupla oxen, coupla cows. A goat. You name it woman there is outdoors a plenty." There is but a heartbeat between Vessa's question of extremity and Al's answer, which is a blatantly cheerful, "Nope! I even brought some Falkin over onna shuttle so's they could sniff you out if you decided to take off out my back window. I -know- you, woman."

Sadie begins to protest as Aka picks her up and takes her to the bathroom, "No! I have to get the tea for Vessa!" Soon she realizes it's no use and slumps her shoulders, pouting. As they reach the bathroom, she looks around at the wet floor. Taking the aloe, she rubs it on her legs and sighs. She looks around the bathroom and, with confusion, looks at the spear sticking out of the toilet. She wipes the few tears away from her eyes that she had allowed to fall and cocks her head slightly at the spear. "What the..?" She sighs as she looks down at her legs, all gooey with aloe.

Akamatsu gives the poor girl a pat on the shoulder as she wipes her tears, and replies to her, "It's alright." He looks to make sure there's nothing on her clothes before telling her "You're lucky it just hit your legs, I'd have to go fetch you something of Al's." With that he looks back out to the other room and says, "Well come on. You looked like you had mroe to say to your sister."

Finishing with the cleaning, Vessa stands unsteadily and looks seriously at Al as she weaves on her feet. "I give you my word, I will be stay here if that is the best thing." she shrugs, "If not for me then the kid. I won't break my word, I never do. Though I do want to know what the hell this plan was that Mary was doing." A thought seems to come to her and she clears her throat, "Oh and I just recalled, this pregnancy will only last three months." a look of satisfaction show briefly, "Not something Mary had decided." She continues to the kitchen and begins looking for quick food, she ends up spending more and more of her time searching by leaning against either the wall or a counter.

"Oh we gonna find out whut Mary's plan was, so help me," Alhambra starts, and follows Vessa to the kitchen to show her where the food's at. "And also so help me the first person who starts spouting shit like nonconsecutive para-dig-em's or whut the fuck ever is going to get punched in the tit. An..." Eeeeeeerrrrrk. The mental gears grind, and the mental brakes screech. "...three... months?" Blink. Blink. "Weird."

Sadie looks up at Aka and nods as she begins to walk out of the bathroom. She bites her lip before walking back to the kitchen. "Vess, you don't need to clean that up. I can do it!" She shifts the weight on her feet nervously. "Did I hear you say 3 months? That's not long at all.."

Akamatsu comes along behind Sadie, ever the gentleman letting her out first, and puts a hand on her shoulder in that reassuring, almost fatherly way, and notes to her, "You looked like you were holding back something, earlier, Sadie. I don't know what it is, but you might not get a better chance to say it."

Vessa consumes everything put in front of her voraciously, "I mean I want to be part of figuring it out," she says to Al then grins, "Love that futuristic medicine. It is accelerated, seemed safest with the way my life seems to go." she says all of this between bites and sends Sadie a tired smile, "Not a problem Sadie, I am happy to help out." Her eyes begin to close as the eating utensil is on it's way to her mouth and it doesn't take long before she is out like a light and heading towards the floor.

And, around Vessa's waist goes Al's arm, as though she'd started a three-count from when the utensil stopped moving. "Got 'er," she drawls, doing her best not to make a big deal about it so as not to wake the woman. Stooping with her usual gentle care, she lifts Vessa up like a child and totes her back towards the bunkroom.

Sadie looks up at Aka and nods slowly, but before she can respond, she watches Al pick Vessa up and bring her to the room. She sighs as she follows them to stay close to her sister. She looks back at Aka and Al and smiles softly. "Thanks for your help, Aka."

Akamatsu sighs a bit, keeping a hand on Sadie's shoulder, since he can still almost feel the stress she's giving off, and Al is busy with Vessa, anyway. To Sadie he notes, "She'll be back up eventually. You can tell her then. She'll still be here, I promise."

Alhambra puts Vessa gently back onto her bed and wipes her face and hands with a moist towel before tucking her in. "Yeah she ain't done sleepin," she observes. Sagely. Then, she heads over to the other side of the room to check on everybody else. "Yeah she promised she ain't going anywhere, and well we got y'know conting-en-cies in place just in case someone or something inspires her to break that promise. Fuck, are we in some kinda shit now or whut?"

Naoi returns, having wrung out her hair, grimacing. She heads immediately for the bathroom, a long strip of cloth held in one hand. The interactions between Vessa and crew determined to be not her business. Sadie nods to Aka, then Al and smiles. "Yeah, I guess we are in shit now." She sighs. "At least it'll only be 3 months until the baby's born. I can stay tonight if you'd like. Tomorrow I need to get working on those scans, though." She smiles softly as her eyes follow Naoi to the bathroom.

Akamatsu nods at Sadie, "Sounds like a plan." finally that fatherly hand leaves her shoulder and he walks over to Al, to give a far less fatherly, and more boyfriend-y arm around the waist, to say, "Yeah, we are. But we'll get through it. Just take a little work. I wouldn't mind having the guys over Danu side owe me a favor though, once we're done." Looking back to Sadie he asks, "You wanting to stay here with your sister?"

Alhambra runs a hand through her hair with a tired chuff. She leans briefly into Aka when he comes around. "Sure, I can drag another bed over from the garage. We kept all the gear from the med tent just in case of emergencies but that architect girl replaced like -everything-." She gives the ronin a mild look. "Man Danu don't owe you nothin'," she drawls with a chortle. "You got me, don'tcha? You need anythin' else?"

Sadie nods to Aka and smiles. "Is that ok.. if I stay here tonight with Vess? I haven't seen her in so long, and I just want to be here with her." She yawns a bit as she grins to Alhambra. "Thank you very much."

Naoi kneels on the bathroom floor, hooking feet behind her, and begans to dry with her hands and stripped cloth.

Akamatsu nods at her, "Feel free to stay anytime, Sadie. Who knows, maybe you'll be a good influence on her." After a moment he adds, "Oh, and I'm sorry to miss your wedding, I heard it was nice. I was stuck in a meeting I couldn't get out of, sadly. Defense pact negotiations and such, rather important." Looking back to Al he replies, "Well, favors between a pair of governments are always nice. Maybe I get to call them for a coup on my end sometime after this." Al will of course receive a squeeze from his arm.

"Of course it's okay, Missy Sadie," Alhambra drawls without hesitation, gesturing to the little crate of linens. "Feel absolutely free to raid for jammies in your size an' snag an empty bed. Guest bathroom's through that door right there... uh, although we may be sharin' it this evening if Missy Naoi hasn't taken care of the terlet gnomes or whutever she found... Honey you can have another towel don't go... Gimme a minute, Etu." She pats Aka's arm and disengages herself to go help the jungle witch get something actual to dry herself with. "You want some jammies too?"

"I'm sorry about your latrine," Naoi mutters, scrubbing harder than is necessary.. and frankly to the point where it does little good anyway. She wrings out the shirt(?) and then turns back to her task. "What are jammies?"

Sadie giggles slightly as she moves to look for something to put on for the night. "It's ok, Aka. I understand!" After changing (somewhere else), she lays down on a cot and looks to Vessa again before closing her eyes and drifting off.

"Pa ja mas," Alhambra drawls slowly to Naoi, and then sinks into thought. Hard. "Bedclothes." She looks a bit proud that she's recalled the word, and then gets some towels to help clean up. "Y'know, clean dry clothes to sleep in."

Akamatsu allows Al to disentangle herself without any trouble, of course, getting some bedding for Sadie to join her sister now that she's decided to join Vessa for the night. Once finished he'll head back over to Al after saying goodnight, asking Al, "Anything you need me to do still?"

"I will probably return to the yard, I feel that I have done enough property damage today." Naoi says, rocking back on her heels to squint at the Ronin.

Alhambra takes a look at the speared toilet. "...yeah can you call me a plumber, hon?" She drawls to Aka, while stuffing the damp towels in the hamper. Naoi gets a grumble, but it seems like Al knows better than to argue. Plus Chez Al seems to be a bit booked up today. "Well all right, take some towels if you want 'em," she adds.

Akamatsu looks at the clock on his PDA, noting to Al, "I think....that it might be a late to be calling any plumbers. I'll get it tomorrow, alright Kanojo?" The ronin looks a fair bit tired himself, again, all in the eyes, not much in his face at all. He places the arm around Al again now, "Don't suppose you'd be opposed to me spending the night too, would you?"

Alhambra lets the arm stay around her, but bends to wash her hands at the sink. She chortles, gently. "Well I suppose you -could-," she drawls. "But don't be expecting no breakfast in bed or nothin'... heh heh heh."

Akamatsu nods at her, "It's been a long, long day." Once she finishes washing her hands he starts to try walking in that direction, looking around a moment to make sure all present have a place to sleep first, but it's quite a short glance.

"Shit yeah it has," Alhambra drawls with a yawn of her own. "But hey Missy Vessa's ok and she ain't gonna try and run off and who the hell knows maybe some of them nasty folks'll try and have a go at me and then I will fuck them up good."
