Personal History
Though she once effortlessly maintained her status as one of the most colorful and notorious figures in the Orion Arm, the infamous Mika Tachyon has done a phenomenal job of keeping the details of her private and personal life under wraps. She is almost certainly from the lower-class and impoverished West Enaj district of Sivad, if her rambling dockside accent is any indication; appearance and overall personality, however, belie an unmistakably Martian heritage. But any paper trail one could reasonably follow unfortunately stretches no further back than 3002, making serious inquiries into the nature of her youth and upbringing difficult at best.
Her early work history, which includes management of the popular Sivadian hotspot, the Black and White Tavern, is spotted with arrest warrants for minor narcotic offenses, felony firearm possession, and citations for disorderly conduct - prologue to a career of crime and mayhem aboard the IND Jackal that would earn her a reputation as one of the most dangerous and unpredictable rogues in the galaxy.
Mika was one of the Outversers who survived the 3008 Rift Crisis, and commanded Taeren M'nammrann's old freighter, the LMS Outcast in the years that followed. She reportedly was searching for her long-lost friend Katriel Elohim, the Outcast's former engineer, until an ill-considered entanglement in the Orion Confederacy's war with the Nall ended in her death.

Personality & Quirks
In personality, Mika is the picture of bipolar disorder. On the one hand, she is amiable and gregarious, a high-energy, extroverted chatterbox. On the other, she is a moody and angst-prone alcoholic, prone to licking her wounds in isolation and brooding over her failures.
Contrast impulsive with crazy when considering Mika. Don't think screwy and random, think reckless and daring. She is a swashbuckler - all wit and bravado, shining her brightest when she can improvise her way through a complicated situation. The moment she stops to think or reason her way through a problem is when she fails; Mika does not plan, and when she does it's invariably a disaster.
Mika has spent the majority of her life on spacecraft, and is more familiar with life on the frontier than life groundside. Therefore, the sort of sacrifices that spacers have to make are simply a fact of life for her. She doesn't complain about synthesized food or low water pressure or vertigo or sleeping in shifts, and mocks those who do. Just the same, she coughs up credits for the simplest luxuries while on shore leave, spending lavishly on food and lodging.
She wears the dog tags of an ex-Vanguard marine named Jason Reilly.
What People Think Of Her
"Don't CARE," Aadzrian hollers Jazz's direction by way of reasoned, logical counterargument. "I am going straigh'en t'is mess out if have to t'row ten t'ousand Mikas into hot tub, or better yet one Mika ten t'ousand times, be-cause ten t'ousand Mika is plague of, how you say, Bibly-cal pro-portion!"
<Public> There Is No Kill Like Overkill Kestrel says, "Getting drunk or running around flailing seem to be both the cause of and the solution to most of Mika's problems."

"To Mika Tachyon, who taught us that one need not be strong to have courage, that justice does not always walk the path of the law, that mistakes and setbacks are but one step in the long journey of life, and that rogues too can be heroes."
