Nightmares and Dreamscapes

Summary: Something happens.

Cast: Fauze, Varal, Amanda, Medea, James Owens, Subhan Lomasa

Air Date: 2010-MARCH-07

Setting: Docking Hub - Comorro Station

Comorro Station isn't exactly a station. It doesn't remain in any one place for a significant span of time. It is, in all accuracy, a massive starship - incapable of atmospheric flight - that has been roaming the stars on a voyage that some say has lasted for more than 90-million years.

The vessel is a Yaralu, a sentient spacefaring vessel. Her true full name cannot be spoken in a single day, but is shortened for convenience to Comorro. Several epochs ago, after her final era of fertility ended, she converted the gray-green ribbed chamber of her womb into a docking hub for smaller Yaralu and non-organic vessels. She made it known to the denizens of Hiverspace that she would serve as a neutral outpost for traders and diplomats.

Use of energy and projectile weapons is prohibited aboard Comorro. Violators will be absorbed into the vessel's nutrient replenishment matrix. She is capable of monitoring almost all chambers within the station for illegal weapons, but some areas - such as the Forgotten Quarter - are lost to her neural pathways and sensory organs.

This would at first appear to be a day aboard Comorro like any other. The ships are in the docking hub, and people are moving in and out of the tradeport. Goods are being moved and ships loaded with freight.

Slowly a fog rolls in, covering the deck to about ankle deep.

Fauze is perched on top of a pile of crates, the tupai cradles a piece of fruit in his wings, tail wagging slowly as he examines the fruit carefully. The rolling in of fog draws the tupai's attention, his scratched and scarred nose looking around. "Oh, is have cloud asleep inside station." He comments to no-one in particular in Hekayan.

"TUPAI!" A strangled yell, full of rage, comes from the direction of the tradeport hatch. A red-faced Varal Mikin stalks towards Fauze.

Amanda comes walking along and gives Fauze a wave "Hey" she smiles brightly

Stepping out from the hatch of a nearby shuttle just in time to catch the enraged human's approach to the Tupai, Medea eyes Varal, smirks to herself, and calls over to Fauze in Hekayan. "Tupai! Did you lose a bet to this human? If so, I would take wing, because it looks like he's coming to collect!" That done, she adjusts the sword across her back and meanders down the ramp, her platemail clinking and clanking.

James Owens walks out of the fog looking around and then head for Fauze and Amanda. His Musket has a bayonet fitted and his eyes seem to be watching the enraged figure carefully.

Slowly the fog thickens, lifting a bit more from the ground. The scenery seems to shift and one might notice that the docking hub has become nearly empty. The line of ships is still there, but the crowd seems to have dissipated giving the area a ghostly feel.

Fauze unfurls his wings, which causes him to drop his fruit, the small yellow sphere falling from his crate perch and rolling across the ground. "Oh, is looking what mister has done now!" Fauze yells to Varal and shakes his head.

Varal stops as Fauze takes flight, seeming content to gesticulate wildy as he yells. "I have warned you time and time again. How many times does this have to continue? Do you think my patience is limitless? There comes a point when enough is enough, and we are damn well close!"

Dean seems to be working on one of the ships, a long tool in his hand. He peeks out as he hears the commotion, looking towards Fauze.

The Hekayti woman escapes squishing the round, yellow fruit by mere inches. Dea tilts her head and looks down at it as it rolls up to rest against her left hoof. "...Hm," she says, thoughtful. Crouching down to pick it up is an interesting prospect when one is eight and a half feet tall and wearing platemail, but she manages, regarding the fruit thoughtfully as she straightens. Ultimately, the fruit isn't as interesting as an angry guy yelling at a bat, though.

Amanda blinks at Varal "You are being quite loud. Do you think you could resolve whatever this is more quietly"

James Owens foccuses his attention on the angry man "Please calm down sir I'm sure whatever is going on doesn't require such a show yes?" His musket shifts downward towards the angry man."

From somewhere in the thick, rolling fog comes the sound of an engine. Not the high-pitched whine of a starship's thrusters, but the low and gutteral growl of a combustion engine. The fogbank roils and bubbles, a smudge of darkness becoming visible within the grayness.

Bursting in and out of the fog on graceful footsteps, Subhan dances in an unusually careless fashion in a loose circle that seems focused around Varal and Fauze. From her lips the notes of a wordless tune fall, the key bright and cheerful.

Dean puts a cigarette into his mouth and lights it, arching a brow as he steps towards the scene a bit more, metal repair tool in hand.

"Fauze could not finding toilet!" The tupai squeaks as he flutters his wings, not moving far from the crates, he turns his head and ears this way and that. "And Varal's bunk was being right /there/! And... and where /is/ Varal, anyway?"

Varal does not move, oblivious to everything around him. "You get back here this instant!" he says almost matronly.

The tradeport seems to have emptied but for the few that have gathered around Fauze. There is the sound of the combustion engine that fills the area and the line of ships, but all is shrowded in a dense fog that seems to be growing thicker by the moment. It has settled low to the ground, not even reaching the knees of most here.

James Owens responds "Sir please return to your seat the show will be starting soon." He hears the sound of the engine "There is the warning return to your seat now." He presses the bayonet's point against Varal.

Medea looks up at the Tupai again, squinting. "Tupai!" she calls in Hekayan. "Catch!" She hauls off and throws the fruit to

Fauze -- or at least, it seems that's how she meant it to happen. As it is, the yellow sphere rockets toward the Tupai at a blinding speed. "...Oh, bugger," the Hekayti says in Standard, blinking blankly as her arms drop to her sides. "I didn't expect to throw it *that* hard." After a few moments pause, she yells, "FORE!"

Amanda looks to Varal "you sure know how to spoil a party don't you...I'm sure he's good for it. The authorities will be all over this place if you don't hush up'

Subhan sweeps in to grasp at Varal's arm, careless of the trouble Fauze is in with the male Fastheldian. She smiles to him, though words don't interrupt the tune of her song, his arm pulled on as she tries to get him to abandon his anger in favour of dancing ith her.

Maybe it's Amanda's admonition, Subhan's tug, or just as likely James' bayonet, but Varal's attention is snapped away from Fauze. He looks at Amanda condescendingly for a brief moment, before holding up a finger to encourage Subhan to wait just a moment. "I will warn you once," he says very softly to James, "to take that off of me and walk away."

In ways that comedians would probably write about for years, the yellow fruit orb collides with the tupai's head in an explosion of loose fur and juice. The tupai, caught in surprise and somewhat blinded by sour juice drops from the air, directly on top of James if he doesn't move.

Dean flicks his cigarette after a few more puffs, the discarded deathstick floating through the air as if it was in a zero-G enviroment.

A figure rides out of the fog, a phantom figure riding on a black motorcycle. The rider has a distinctly wolfish appearance, with slick black fur and antlers on his head. He rolls to a stop, fog swirling around him, and turns his head to regard the people assembled there.

James Owens allows the Taupi to land on his head but doesn't jump or anything beyond a blink. Instead his attention seems foccused on Varal. "I warn you sir disruption of the show will not be tolerated."

Varal is granted the moment he seeks, though it entails the Baroness being unusually affectionate in the manner with which she hugs to the Fastheldian's arm. Singing still, she peeks out around Varal towards James, violet eyes wide and blinking as she studies him.

At the mention of a show and as if on cue a singing rises from the quiet of the area, seeming to fill the air. The sound is almost angelic, perhaps remeniscent of an angel choir to some.

This is soon interrupted by a low growl that seems to be just under the singing.

"Oh, ow, that's gonna leave a mark," Dea says, wincing. "Sorry!" The Hekayti woman's eyes swing toward Cernunnos, and then go wide. "Hey! Wolfy!" She clomps over his way. "...Why haven't you-" She's cut off by the angelic-sounding choir, trailing off into a snarl. "WOULD you featherbrained bible thumpers shut UP already?" she bellows at nobody in particular. "I'm TRYING to have a reunion here!"

Fauze picks himself up on James' head, taking perch there and shaking his own head groggily. "Oh... is feel like being shot... with fruit!" The tupai exclaims, he falls silent at the singing though, squeaking softly and appreciatively.

Amanda closes her eyes at the sound of the music "Not going to let Mr. killjoy spoil my mood

James Owens suddenly looks afraid and looks towards the sound of the growl "It's alright everything is under control the show can go on I promise you." his voice cracks a little as he speaks.

Varal frowns at Subhan. "A moment, please."

Dean glances around, raising a brow, "That's wierd," He drops his tool accidentally, and it lands on his toe, causing him to flail his foot with pain. "Gahhhh Damn it! Damn it!" He sits down and holds his foot. "...Probably need a bandage now."

Cernunnos says, "What's that?" The lupine figure cocks his head to one side and listens to the singing. He raises his left hand to wave his finger in time to the music, as if conducting the invisible choir. The hand he raises, however, looks more like a charred skeleton than living flesh.

The motorcycle, on the other hand, seems to have different ideas. It turns around, unbidden, and drives straight towards Medea. The puffs of smoke it leaves behind look suspiciously like little black hearts."

"How positively dreadful, to make me wait so," Subhan intones towards James, rather than Varal, the Baroness giving a light sigh. She doesn't relinquish her grip on the Fastheldian's arm, only tightening it, in fact, at the undertone of a growl that sounds.

The growl continues, growing in volume and then words seem to form within it, "Faaauuze, I'm coming for you..." it says in Hekayan.

The singing continues to float lightly through the air, the sound cheerful and bright as a light begins to shine down from above as of a spotlight. Where from, it's hard to see exactly, but it lands directly on Cern as he conducts.

"My lady, I will be most upset if you must make me ask a third time," Varal says to Subhan while staring at James. "This knave has upset me."

Fauze shudders at the sound of his name in Hekayan. "Fauze isn't liking this anymore..." He stutters, looking around for something to hide under, his tail flicking behind him.

Medea blinks. "...Actually, that is kind of catchy," she says, humming along in time with the choir music. She gives a positively girlish squeal and kneels to hug the motorcycle, or as near as she can get anyway. "Wildejagd! Where have you *been*?" She eyes the contraption sidewise. "Has he been feeding you?" she asks conspiratorially. "...Hmm. You can eat that one." Her hand flicks toward... well, it's hard to tell who, actually. The gesture is very easily misinterpreted as being pointed at any of a number of people.

Subhan leans in to brush her cheek to Varal's arm, thereafter looking up to him with a most innocent expression, "Do forgive me, won't you?" She asks just before pulling away to give Varal the freedom to move without a Baroness on his arm. She gives a sharp, displeased look to James.

Amanda blinks at fauze "You don't like the music. It's absoluteely lovely She opensher eyes and glances at varal james and subhan "would you look at that. he'd rather pick a fight than dance with his girlfriend. Why spend all that money on tickets, honestly

Varal takes a step back and offers Subhan a small smile. "How could I not?" Then, with a face of stone, he turns towards James with a sword in either hand. "You, however, have crossed the line."

Dean gets to his feet and rubs his toe a little with a frown, grabbing the tool back up.

"This is all your fault, Fauze..." the voice snarls. The music stops, the singing cut off abruptly with a squeek and suddenly the spotlight goes out, the entire area plunged into gloom and darkness.

Fauze unfurls his wings as James shakes his head, the tupai flutters off the head and down to the ground. "It's not Fauze's fault! Fauze didn't do anything!" The tupai squeaks, looking a little distressed, his tail thrashes at the air behind him, which just happens to contain James' leg.

Subhan offers a smile of her own to Varal in return as she watches him as a Lady might her man in a tourney. Just as it's declared to all be Fauze's fault her glance turns upon the Tupai, sharp, narrowed and in agreement with the sentiment, "T'is certainly your fault." She singsongs at the Tupai through the darkness.

"Oh, it's you." Cernunnos regards Medea curiously. "It's been a while. So, you've finally died again, after all?" Wildejagd's engine rumbles happily. "How was mortality?"

When the lights go out, Coyote's eyes glow a dull red in the shadow. The wolf turns his head back and forth to look around the area, then grunts thoughtfully. "What's all the fuss about, anyway?"

Gloom notwithstanding (and possibly not noticed), Dea rises, giving a pat to the motorcycle. "I was eight feet tall and green," she observes wryly to Cern. "I guess it's better than being a dumpy housewife from Florida, in any case. But with less secretaries and handguns." She smiles brightly at that, holds up a finger in a 'wait a minute' signal, and suddenly dashes toward Varal. The Hekayti woman's managed to get her hands on... a pillow. A really stinkin' big, squishy pillow. "PILLOW FIIIIIIIGHT!" she bellows as she swings the soft, comfy weapon at the Fastheldian's head.

"-Your- fault!" Dean's voice comes from the darkness, assumedly near the ships, as he drags his tool along the hulls of the ships, clanking and clattering, the sound getting louder and closer to Fauze.

James Owens replies to Varal "Threatening show staff is not allowed. If you do not discard your weapons sir I will have no choice but to shoot you." When the room drops into darkness he adds "There will be no refunds on tickets until after the current matters are sorted out."

Amanda applauds "Bravo. Encore!"

"Oh, but it is your fault..all your fault..." the voice says, this time much closer and pinpointed at a spot near Fauze. Eyes would be able to make out the form of a large badger with red glowing eyes, "And now I've returned along with the dead to exact my revenge..." it snarls with feindish glee, a glistening of fang just visible as it smiles.

Fauze who was cowering behind his wings suddenly jumps as the voice comes again from across the darkness and the fog, this time much closer to the tupai. His own eyes, shielded behind a visor look in the direction of the red eyes of the badger, ears swiveling between it, Dean and Subhan's voices. "Fauze didn't mean to, Fauze wouldn't have, Fauze couldn't have!" The tupai backs away from the eyes, wings curling around the knives he keeps on his belt.

Varal does not notice Dea coming towards him, and the pillow connects with his head. One minute he's standing, and the next minute he's lost within the fog on the ground.

Cernunnos takes hold of wildejagd's handlebars and turns the bike around to drive after Medea, apparently wanting to see what's going on. The horned hunter rolls up to the group surrounding Fauze, and then comes to a sharp stop just in front of the badger. He leans forward and rests his elbows on the handlebars, his own red eyes looking back at the badger. "Returned fromw here, exactly?" He asks in a curious tone. "I've traveled a great many paths, you see. Perhaps it's somewhere I've visited once upon a time?"

James Owens bows towards Dea "Thank you for your assistence madam. I promise that the show will continue without furthur interuption." He then turns in the direction of Fauze's voice and his eyes gleam red as he watches the Taupi flee from the beast.

Amanda giggles "Blowhard fall down go boom" and poofs out of sight

Medea skids to a stop several steps past where Varal disappeared into the fog, the Hekayti woman peering around, confused. "...Now where'd he go..." But then, the badger. Oh, the badger. "Oh! Badger! Badger badger badger badger badger!" she says, pointing. "The badger says it's your fault. So it must be YOUR FAULT!" Violet arcs of lightning crackle between the clawed fingers of her gauntlets as she raises them. "Can I, mother?" she asks pleadingly, looking at the badger. "Can I? Pleeeease?"

Dean continues to clank the metal against the hull, the sound then changing as if he were climbing quickly across it's side, laughing. He can't be seen well from the dark.

The badger reguards Cern for a moment, never answering the question though as it turns it's attention back toward the Tupai. "You killed me. It was always your fault," he says as large claws gleam in the dim light. With Dea's pleas he pauses, seeming to consider and then....he nods and takes a few steps back.

"How cruel!" Subhan cries, fluttering towards where Varal has fallen. While she clearly means to kneel by him and settle his head in her lap, she trips and falls atop him instead. A small outcry, then she sighs, "That terrible flapping beast is to blame, surely."

Fauze takes another step back, shaking his head. "It's /not/ Fauze's fault... It couldn't be... Fauze didn't... He wouldn't..." His voice fades into a quite, chirping whimpering, his wings curl tighter about the knives, ears swiveling around to the laughing coming from Dean's direction. "Is helping Fauze now?" Is the hopeful chirp.

"Oh, is /that/ all?" Cernunnos makes a dismissive gesture with his bony hand. "Just a vengeful spirit with a death-curse?" He yawns, and rides over towards Fauze, looping around to stop behind the Tupai. "What's the matter?" The wolf asks, looming in the darkness. "Is this the first person you've ever killed, or something?" Dean's makeshift weapon bounces past Fauze in response to the question, thrown at high velocity.

James Owens watches the Tupai protest his innocence and turns to the crowd with a smile "A lot of people say this is the best part." He moves to give the members of the 'audience' a better view.

"Oh goody!" Dea says, bouncing up and down. "Thaaaaaank you, mother!" She blows a kiss at the badger (or as close as someone can get while dressed the way she is, anyway) and advances on Fauze, arms thrown wide, as if to try to grab him up. "Fly, little bat! Fly away! It's more fun that way!" Still the arcs of electricity dance between the fingers of her gauntlets.

Comorro's docking hub is the setting. The hub itself nearly empty save for those few that have come for the 'show'. The lighting is dim with a foggy mist swirling about near the ground not quite knee high on most humans. The action seems to be centered around one Tupai, Fauze, and a rather large form of a badger menacing from the shadows.

"Oh no..." the Llivori replies to Cern's question. "He has killed many. A murderer...he /must/ pay." The forms glowing read eyes shift toward Dea, "Do it, child, do it!" he commands in a booming voice that seems to fill every space within the hub.

The makeshift weapon gets a surprised chirp from Fauze as it clatters past, he looks back the way it came, genuine surprise across his scarred snout, his gaze then drifts up towards Cernunnos. "No! Please, please telling them... telling them he didn't, he didn't kill them..." A small, chittering whimper follows this and the knives are left for the moment, Fauze unfurls his wings. "Fauze didn't!" He cries out and takes off, flying in the opposite direction of the Llivori, and the creature calling it mother. James Owens finds a place to watch the show and smiles eagerly as Dea advances on Fauze. Apparently he's one of the people who really enjoy this part. He leans forward to get a better view.

Cernunnos shakes his hrned head. "Really now." He growls in an exhasperated tone. "It's my experience that spirits normally have an excellent memory in regards to who they've killed or been killed by." From the droll tone of the wolf's voice, it sounds as if he considers himself a bit of an expert on that sort of thing. "So what's wrong with you? If you've killed him once, you can do it again, right?. Look, you can borrow my gun." The lupine draws one of the small submachine guns holstered at his back, and tosses it up to the Tupai.

On to the scene lurks a smallish copper colored Lotorian, wading through the fog. He pauses at the rim of the scene to observe, ears askew.

Medea gets a running start and leaps after Fauze... and quite promptly crashes back down to the deck again, landing in a crouch on her hooved feet. The Hekayti woman blinks and cranes her head to look behind her. The crackling energy on her hands goes out as she promptly facepalms. Gently, of course. "Well that's inconvenient. Mother, I seem to have left my wings in the afterlife."

"Then you shall have them..." the Livori replies with a fangfilled smile.

And with that two buldges form at Dea's shoulder blades, growing at an exponential rate before full sized leathery bat wings burst forth from them. The badger doesn't seem to have taken note of Cern or the gun tossed toward Fauze.

Fauze either doesn't see the gun, or doesn't do anything about it, he certainly doesn't catch it with his feet. The tupai squeaks quietly and flies as far and as fast into the fog as his wings will take him, muttering all the time. "Fauze is good tupai, Fauze is happy tupai, Fauze is always do as Fauze is told... Fauze is good tupai, Fauze is happy tupai... he didn't... he didn't kill Boss... he couldn't... he couldn't kill Boss... Fauze is good tupai, Fauze is happy tupai." Fauze is hardly sane at the best of times.

James Owens notices the gun and frowns before disappearing into the shadows. He returns a few miniuites muttering something about last miniuite script changes and lack of warning to staff.

Coyote sighs in boredom, and hits the gas accelerating over to snatch the gun out of the air. "Hrmph." He mutters, and circles around back towards the red-eyed Llivori. "That's one hell of a grudge you're nursing." He observes in a thoughtful tone. "How'd the little bat-critter do you in, anyway? Doesn't really seem like he could have taken you in a straight fight, eh?"

Dean seems to just be chilling on whatever ship he settled on.

A roar of pain escapes the Hekayti, who doubles over, crouching on the ground. "...Mother, did you have to make it hurt quite so much?" Dea grits out. "...Oh geez," she says then, examining her reflection in the polished steel of a nearby starship hull. "I look like my boss." She sighs and shrugs as if to say: what are you gonna do? before she flexes those wings experimentally. "...Now where'd that bat go? I think he deserves a hug."

A growl of a laugh escapes the Llivori, his eyes seeming to grow brighter as his form seems to fade back into the fog, "He left me at the mercy of my enemy..." come the words, the laughter resuming.

A wall looms up in front of the Tupai who apparently doesn't see it as he *smacks* straight into it, falling with a sickening *thud* to the ground. His eyes open to find...

Home. In his normal sleeping space...only on the floor.
