Roleplaying: 10 Hooks for Roleplaying a Futuristic Space Priest

Posted on March 6, 2023March 6, 2023 By Brody No Comments on Roleplaying: 10 Hooks for Roleplaying a Futuristic Space Priest

If you’re looking for a unique character to play, why not try a futuristic space priest? This role combines elements of science fiction, spirituality, and adventure, making it an exciting and rewarding choice. However, portraying a space priest can be challenging, especially if you’re new to roleplaying.

Consider these hooks:

  1. The missionary: You’re on a mission to spread your faith to new worlds and civilizations. You seek out new converts and try to build a following on every planet you visit.
  2. The protector: You’re tasked with protecting a holy relic or ancient artifact that is rumored to have the power to change the course of history. You must defend it against all who seek to possess it.
  3. The counselor: You’re a trusted confidant to the crew of a deep-space vessel, offering guidance and spiritual support during long, isolated journeys.
  4. The detective: You’re called upon to investigate a murder or other crime aboard a space station or colony. Using intuition and knowledge of human nature, you try to solve the mystery and bring the culprit to justice.
  5. The rebel: You’re a member of a religious sect that opposes the ruling government of a particular planet or star system. You must navigate dangerous political waters while staying true to your faith and fighting for what you believe in.
  6. The healer: You’re a skilled medical practitioner who uses a combination of modern technology and ancient healing practices to cure diseases and injuries.
  7. The exorcist: You’re called upon to banish an otherworldly entity that has taken over a space station or ship. You must use all of their spiritual and physical resources to defeat the evil force.
  8. The peacemaker: You’re sent to a war-torn planet to broker a peace treaty between two warring factions. You must use diplomatic skills and spiritual authority to bring the sides to the negotiating table.
  9. The teacher: You’re a mentor to young acolytes who are studying to become priests themselves. Impart knowledge and wisdom while also guiding students through the challenges of space travel and spiritual growth.
  10. The hermit: You’ve chosen a solitary existence on a remote planet or asteroid, seeking enlightenment and spiritual purity. You must overcome the dangers of isolation and find inner peace amidst the vastness of space.
